I frowned when I looked at the bleachers. Is that Wes? What's he doing here? I was on the field, getting ready for the 1st game of the season. I could see Wes sitting pretty near me. He was wearing shades and a cap. But I knew it's him. And surprisingly, he's alone. Or maybe not. I don't know. I pretended not to see him. His head was bent down over his phone. I looked over at everybody else. They were not paying attention to him. It was as if he's incognito. Suddenly he looked up and I guess he was looking at me. He kinda waved. Surprised, I looked over my shoulder, expecting to see someone that Wes knows behind me. But there was nobody paying attention to him or acknowledging him. I looked back at him. He was looking at me. Literally. Hesitantly, I waved back a little. He was still looking at me, his expression unreadable because of his shades.
"Who are you waving at?" Tara, the team captain asked beside me suddenly. I turned to her quickly and turned back to Wes. He was looking at his phone now, not really caring about what was happening around him. I just turned back to Tara and smiled.
"Uhm, no one." I said and Tara just shrugged and started calling everyone into a huddle. I jogged towards her and pushed Wes out of my mind. I have a game to win.
Throughout the game, I could feel Wes watching me. Kinda narcissistic, but I couldn't help it. He even stood up to cheer when I scored a goal. What the heck is up with Wes?

Wes' POV
I really have no idea what I'm doing. I was very conscious about being here. I've never been to a soccer game before. Let alone the girls' soccer game. It's weird. A few girls from school saw me and tried to get me to join them but I politely declined. I was feeling awkward as it is. Suddenly, I looked up and saw Addy looking at me from the field. She was scrutinizing me. She's probably confused as to why I'm here. God I hope Layne doesn't see me. I don't think I can handle her teasing me. I peeked at Addy looking at me. She was wearing a soccer jersey and mesh shorts. Her legs were long and strong, which surprised me, since she used to hide them a lot under jeans.
Without realizing it, I have looked up and started waving at her. She actually turned and looked over her shoulder. I guess she thought I was waving at someone else. That kinda made me feel bad. I really made her distrust me. But in the end, she did wave back, albeit hesitatingly.
Throughout the game, I was on edge. I watched her in awe. She's amazing. She practically flew all over the field. I couldn't help cheering her on along with everybody else.
'Damn, she's fucking sexy,' I thought to myself when I saw her totally bent it like Beckham and scored a goal with a crazy flying kick. She even took countless tumbles from being tackled by the opposing player. But she seemed unfazed. Even when her cheek and elbow bled. She just ignored the blood and cuts and proceeded with playing the game. She was badass. Who is this girl and why the hell haven't I been paying attention to her? Well, since you're a superficial asshole who thinks appearance is everything. I know I'm a shallow bastard. And I've hurt Addy in the process by ignoring her. I messed her up in the head and made her second guess her self-worth. God, I am seriously an asshole. I stared at her in awe as she jogged on the field and rejoined her teammates on the centerfield.
I was on my feet, screaming my head off cheering her on throughout the game. Not once did Addy even glance my way, since she's so engrossed with winning. I was sorely disappointed since i want her to glance my way. When they finally won, I felt this joy spreading slowly inside me. Addy and her teammates were screaming and jumping on the field in celebration on the field.
***********************************************************************************************Addy's POV
We won! We freaking won! I was so ecstatic that I didn't even feel the cut on my cheek from when I fell face first on the ground. I ran to my teammates and we hugged each other happily. I know it's only the first game and we have 3 more games to qualify for the finals. After the celebratory hugs, I could hear Layne screaming from the bleachers. She was flanked by Matt, Frankie and Ashley. I smiled and waved at them. They enthusiastically waved back. Suddenly i remembered Wes. My eyes flickered to where he was sitting before. I frowned. He's not there anymore. I felt a huge disappointment. Darn it. I still had my hopes that Wes would come through for me. Seems like I made a mistake trusting him. But still, the fact that he came to see me play and cheered for me was kinda cool and I really appreciated it.
