There was no sunlight in Hans's cell. He knew it was morning from the echoing of the bird's chirping. He sat up, feeling hopeless and riddled with worry and anxiety. His arm was aching too from the gunshot wound. Was his daughter alright? Did John take good care of her? All these questions kept haunting him and it frustrated him because there was no answer to him.
The door suddenly creaked open and Hans stood up. Suddenly, Captain Nicolas appeared with a tray of food in his hands. He tossed it towards Hans who merely stared at the food. He didn't have an appetite. He could barely stomach anything.
"Hans", Captain Nicolas addressed and Hans looked at him, with shame in his eyes. He could see that Captain Nicolas was disappointed in him. "It's been ten years...."
"It has...", Hans sighed sadly. If he can remember, Captain Nicolas had great respect for him. He cared for the people, he made sure everyone was taken care of, and took over when Princess Anna went to look for her sister. "I'm so sorry..."
"Don't apologize to me", said Captain Nicolas. "Apologize to Queen Elsa and Princess Anna....but I do appreciate that you saved Queen Elsa from death."
"Thank you, sir", says Hans. "But may I ask a favor?"
"What is it?", Captain Nicolas furrowed his brows. "Can I please see my daughter? Even in chains. Don't bring her here please, I don't want her to see such...gruesomeness. I just want to see her, for a bit."
"I'll see...", Captain Nicolas nodded. "I don't see anything wrong with your request. You seem like a dedicated father."
"Yes, Sir. I love my daughter with all my heart", Hans says sincerely. He loves talking about his daughter, the one thing he's super proud of in his life.
"I can see that", Nicolas smiled. "She's safe with your friend now."
"I'm glad to hear that", Hans says. "So...Sir, what happens after this? Am I going to sent back to the Southern Isles again?"
"Most likely", Captain Nicolas says. "But we'll see...anyways, I got to go. I have other matters to attend to."
"Right, right...", Hans nodded with a sigh as he sat back down on the cell floor. "Thank you, Sir for the...food and for your help."
"No need to thank me...", Captain Nicolas says. "But I do wish you the best of luck..."
"Alright Sir...", Hans nodded before picking up the tray of food and forcing himself to eat.
But once the door slammed close, Hans was left alone. He forced himself to eat the stale food but could barely keep anything down.
What has his life come to? He wondered. What if he was sent back to the Southern Isles? He knew he would have to face the harsh punishments from his brothers again...or worse, execution. And what about his daughter? He doesn't know...he wouldn't be able to live with himself if anything happened to his daughter.

"Queen Elsa, Prince Frederic", Captain Nicolas called her. Elsa was in the dining table with her husband, Frederic when Captain Nicolas walked in. "Your majesty."
"What is it Nicolas?", Frederic asked Captain Nicolas, lookin up from his cup of coffee.
"Hans has a request. He wants to see his daughter, even if he's all chained up. Just not in the cell, he says", Captain Nicolas replied and Frederic's grip on the handle of the mug tightened.
"No-"
"Yes", Elsa interrupted Frederic who shot her a confused and shocked look. "Frederic, let the man see his daughter. I know he's done terrible things but I feel bad for the child. She needs her father."
