Elsa sat by the garden. It was a whole day affair showing Arendelle around to Ivar. She forced a smile the entire time not wanting to disappoint him and tried to speak properly despite her hands and voice shaking. But once she finished touring him and his brother, Hans around, she ended up in the garden, writing in her journal once again.
"Princess Elsa?", a deep familiar voice calls her. She turned around and saw Hans behind her. She smiled at him.
"O-oh, Prince Hans", she greeted him before he sat beside her. "What brings you here?"
"Was looking for you actually", he says with a smile.
"You were?", she asks and he nods in response.
"Wanted to check up on you. You seemed a tad bit nervous and off the edge awhile ago", he said and Elsa sighs, looking down ashamedly. She hasn't honestly left the castle very much ever since her parents shut almost everyone out in fear.
"Was it that bad?", she asks worriedly and Hans quickly shakes his head.
"No, no, I was just worried", he assures her with a smile. "Wanted to see if you were alright."
"I am", Elsa assures him with a smile but her heart was racing in her chest for some reason every time she was around him.
"Arendelle is beautiful", Hans tells her with a charming smile. "They'd be blessed to have a queen like you when you come of age."
"Thank you...", Elsa says however she felt her hands tremble from the idea. Would she still be a good ruler with her current situation being incapable of controlling her powers?
"And Ivar too is well...very lucky", Hans suddenly says looking away from her. Elsa tilted her head at him.
"What do you mean?", she asks him.
"Ah well...when you become his wife, he will meet such a kind, loving, person. He would be blind not to see it", Hans tells her and at that moment, her heart started racing and her cheeks were growing red.
Suddenly, Elsa's notebook plummeted to the ground unexpectedly and both her and Hans went to fetch it. Their hands accidentally meet and they are both frozen before looking up into each other's eyes. It was like time slowed down between them. She hasn't ever felt this way or been in a situation like this.
But Elsa quickly recovered and cleared her throat grabbing the notebook. "S-sorry...", she stammers looking away quickly. She can feel him staring at her but she chose to ignore it.
There were these sudden feelings in her that ultimately scared her. She shouldn't be feeling this way especially towards the brother of her supposed future husband....
Which is why Elsa chose to suppress it. In fear of letting someone into her life...and for fear of loving someone she cannot love...
That memory played in Elsa's head the moment she entered the ballroom. It had gone as planned despite the many setbacks that had happened earlier today. The sudden bittersweet memory made Elsa's heart rate race and her eyes were nearly filling with tears. It had been years since that day....the day she knew she was falling for Hans and why she was so quick to forbid herself from doing so.
Elsa was starting to think and wonder. Was it because of her that Hans returned to Arendelle only to seek vengeance for what Elsa had done? Or was it because of his brothers and parents that had drove him tried to kill her in order to become king? Elsa knew Hans...he wasn't the type to do stuff like that, attempt murder, and manipulate someone in order to gain his way...or so she thought he was.
