"Are you sure about this?", Anna asked Elsa who was staring out the window, contemplating her next moves. "Are you sure you want to marry him?"
"Yes...", Elsa replied though there was a bit uncertainty in her voice. "I am"
It's been ten years since the Great Thaw. Things were relatively great for the past nine years, up until recently, where a neighboring kingdom, has declared war on Elsa's kingdom.
Elsa tried to fight the war on her own for awhile but eventually, her people started dying, she was running low on supplies, she needed help fast. She needed to make an alliance to save her people...and so she did, she decided to marry Prince Frederic of Maldonia, a suitor of hers back when she was twenty-four and he was twenty-one.
She turned him down at first. She wasn't interested in marriage after all she had been through. She kept trying to convince herself that she didn't need a man but here she is now, desperate to find a solution to stop this war and save her people.
For her people, Elsa thought to herself the moment she picked up the white bouquet and headed out the door, Anna following behind her.
"You look beautiful", Anna says to her as they make their way to the chapel. "I was longing to see the day you'd wear a wedding dress...and walk down the aisle..."
Elsa forced smiled at her little sister before giving her a hug. "I remember your wedding day...it was eight years ago and I remember bawling my eyes out when I walked you down the aisle."
"You didn't want to let me go", Anna laughed reminiscing her wedding day. "I can't believe it's your turn now..."
"Neither can I", Elsa says forcing a smile once again before turning her feet towards the chapel door.
Her heart was racing. Her palms were sweating and she took a deep breath. This was happening. It was really happening.
When the doors suddenly opened and Elsa walked down the aisle, she saw her future husband, Prince Frederic standing at the end with a small smile on his face. Kristoff was there too and somehow seeing her brother-in-law gave her a little more comfort and strength to do this.
How she wishes mama and papa were here, to witness her wedding day. Anna too felt the same but they can't change back time. They had to keep going forward.
When Elsa made it to the altar, she turned to Anna who was in tears already and gave her a small kiss on the cheek. "I love you", she whispered to her younger sister.
"I love you too", she whispers back before wiping the tears from her eyes and heading to her husband.
Elsa faced the priest and the ceremony carried on. It felt like a drag up until the end where the very infamous questions were asked.
"Do you, Queen Elsa of Arendelle take Prince Frederic of Maldonia as your husband?", the minister asked her and although she wanted to run and say no, she nodded her head and muttered a weak, "yes."
"And do you, Prince Frederic of Maldonia take Queen Elsa of Arendelle to be your wife?", the minister asked Frederic and he looked to Elsa before giving a small, "yes."
"I now pronounce you, husband and wife", the minister declared and the audience started clapping and cheering for the newlyweds.
