Hailey, Katie, and Lauren were all at Hailey's apartment. The three girls were having a girls night; wine, movies, and blankets surrounded them. Joe had been there the night before, and Hailey could still remember exactly where he sat, the way he pulled the blanket up around his shoulders, and how he laughed at every single joke from each movie, no matter if it was bad or not.

Katie and Lauren noticed Hailey's stares at the empty spot on the couch and the way she smiled ever so slightly. "Hailey!" Lauren yelled, throwing a pillow at her face.

"What?" Hailey asked, frowning at her best friend.

"What are you thinking about?" Katie asked.

"Nothing," Hailey mumbled.

"Don't lie to us, Hails," Katie said. "Was it about Joe?"

"Joe? Who's Joe?" Hailey asked, shrugging her shoulders. "I'm afraid I don't know who that is."

"Cut the bullshit," Lauren said.

"Okay, fine. Yes, I was thinking about Joe," Hailey said, "he was here last night."

"And you didn't tell us?" Lauren asked, offended. "I thought we were friends."

"We are! It was a last minute thing," Hailey said. "Besides, I don't have to run everything by you guys."

"Did you guys kiss?" Katie asked, a smirk on her face.

"No!" Hailey exclaimed. "Jesus, guys. We just met."

"All I'm saying is you should jump his bones before it's too late," Lauren said.

"Don't listen to her, Hailey. Take it slow," Katie said.

"How about we just stay friends? Is that too much to ask," Hailey said. "I thought this was 2017. Aren't I allowed to have a guy friend?"

"Not if its Joe fucking Keery," Lauren said. "I would get on my knees so fast."

"Lauren!" Hailey laughed, throwing the pillow back at her. "God, you're disgusting."

"But I'm right."

"Debatable," Katie added. Hailey and Lauren laughed just as Hailey's phone went off. "Is it your lover?"

"Shut up," Hailey said, checking the text. It was, in fact, from Joe, but she wouldn't tell them that.
