I just sat there, staring up at him as he tried to talk to me, but my brain refused to function. His hands were still on my shoulders. He had brought his face closer down to my level and was trying to get a response out of me. He was talking in English, trying to get me to answer him. My brain finally decided to comprehend the sound.

"Emma, c'mon, say something! What'd he do to you?" His voice was frantic. "Emma, where did he hurt you? Emma!"

I tried to answer him, but my limbs were frozen in place; my hands clenched tightly into fists; my throat closed up in tears and fear. I opened my mouth to answer, intending to tell him he hadn't done anything yet, but what came out of my mouth shocked me.

A great loud sob welled out of my mouth. The relief of having someone else that was safe with me relieved me so much that I was crying. Tears streaked down my face, and I was making that horrible choking-hiccuping thing I did when I cried. The other two people were talking to each other in Korean, but Ha Joon was still looking at me. My shoulders were shaking again, this time from my own sobs. I couldn't even cover my face; I was so disoriented. Suddenly, I reached out and grabbed his arm, hugging the nearest thing to me.

I had been so terrified, so afraid. It was almost indescribable how hard my heart was beating. Now, on top of all of that, I was embarrassed. Again. I tried to hide my face and my blotchy red skin, but Ha Joon turned me back towards him.

"Emma. You're okay. It's okay. He left already, see? You kicked him right in the balls."

The goofy expression mixed with worry on his face coaxed a strangled-sounding laugh from me. Finally, I could form coherent words.

"I'm fine." I said, trying to take deep, shuddering breaths. I was okay. "He didn't do anything."

I looked down and noticed my knees for the first time. They were skinned and dripping blood down my legs. I tried to stand, embarrassed, but my legs felt like jelly. I ended up leaning heavily on Ha Joon. That was when I realized that my palms were ripped and bloody also. The shock of seeing that deep red blood steadied me. My mother was a doctor, and had shown me pictures of injuries she'd had to help out with. I could deal with blood.

"Ugh." I said wiping away my tears. "You had to fall, Emma."

My legs had stopped shaking. I still felt a little weak and queasy, but I could stand. The skin on my knees and hands burned and stung, but I ignored them. I turned suddenly to the other two members. "Annyeonghaseyo" I said with a little bow.

They both looked a bit amused, and gave a little bow back to me. Both of them were glancing sideways at Ha Joon. One of them was holding onto my backpack. Suddenly, I felt Ha Joon take one of my hands. I jumped a little, and then realized that he was studying the wound. He had brought my palm up close to his face.

"Ouch," He said. "You should get some disinfectant on that."

I laughed a bit, trying to dispel the fear from my heart, but it sounded forced. "Yeah. It's not the first time I've fallen. The floor seems to be my worst enemy."

I was still shaky, but I managed to start walking slowly. Ha Joon and the other two members walked me back to the studio. One of the members, named Fang, was the leader of the group, and had blonde dyed hair. The other one was named Kim Sung Min, and had dark brown hair streaked with blonde and an ice blue. They had been taking a walk in their free time, and had seen me back into the light of one of the lanterns, with this big guy, who was hanging onto my backpack. We got through the gate okay, since the security person recognized us. I lead Ha Joon, Fang, and Sung Min to the kitchen to wash out my hands. I shrugged my jacket off onto a chair and walked to the sink.
