I'd forgotten about the invitation from Ha Joon oppa, and only remembered when I checked my texts from home. Thankfully, it was only 11:20, and I was to meet them at 1. Since I was giving up an hour to spend with friends, I studied Korean until 12:55, and then left to meet them outside the gates. I waited for about two minutes before I saw Ha Joon oppa and Fang oppa walking up around the corner.
A huge grin spread across my face as I saw them. I was so excited! Ha Joon was dressed in a denim jacket with cotton sleeves made of black and red checkers. He wore black ripped jeans, white sneakers, and a black snapback. He came up to me and gave me a fist-bump. I high-fived Fang and asked how they'd been doing.
"Lots of practice." Ha Joon said in English.
"Yeah, I'm starting to get into the practice also." I told him ruefully. "I was up late yesterday studying Korean."
Fang oppa barked a laugh. "He was texting you at one yesterday, wasn't he?"
I glanced at him in surprise; I'd never heard him speak English. His accent sounded very similar to Taehyung oppa's.
"Yes, he was." I said with a laugh. "I was surprised that you were up that late," I said to Ha Joon oppa.
"We were in the dance studio from twelve in the afternoon until eleven in the night." Ha Joon told me. "I didn't think to wonder whether or not you'd be awake or not."
"Well I was." I said, with an air of finality that made it sound as if we had been having an argument.
"So. Where are the other members?" I asked.
"Sung Min hyung is filming a drama and Hae Seong hyung is doing an individual photoshoot," He started, ticking the members off his fingers. "I forgot where Zed hyung went."
"He's recording, I think." Fang oppa inputted.
"Oh yeah."
We walked a bit more, and suddenly Fang oppa was holding open a door for me. I glanced up in surprise. I had been here before.
"Oh!" I said. "I went here with Jimin oppa!" The memory sparked a sense of guilt. "Oh no. I forgot to repay him for my boba. Dang it."
Ha Joon oppa glanced at me. "Jimin seonbae bought you bubble tea?"
"Yeah," I said. "We were coming back from gym."
The memory of gym reminded me of the horrid night where I'd gotten my wounds. I glanced out the window, staring at the exact spot where it had happened. The thought sent shivers down my spine. Ha Joon oppa seemed to notice this and looked down at my hands.
"How are your hands?" he asked, reaching down to take them.
He inspected the white bandages. I took my hand back awkwardly, my heart beating a little faster.
"They're good," I said, wincing as my voice cracked a bit. "I think they'll heal fine."
"And your knees?" He glanced down at my ripped jeans, but the scraped part was slightly below the holes, and well hidden.
"They're better than my hands." I said. "Everything just stings a bit."
I glanced up and noticed that Fang oppa was watching us with a strange expression on his face. Before I could figure out what he was thinking, he turned around and began to walk to the line. As soon as he was gone, I felt awkward standing there with Ha Joon oppa, and hastily turned to follow him. I could hear Ha Joon behind me as I walked to join Fang oppa in line. I tapped my chin thoughtfully, trying to read the flavors on the board.
