I sit on the edge of the bed, reading quietly and Andy walks in. I look up and put down my book.

"Hey, you okay?" I ask. I'd heard of what happened between him and Gianna. He glances at me and nods.

"Yeah, I'm good," he mutters.

"I heard,"

"Oh," he looks surprised.

"I'm going to check on Gianna later, you want me to say anything?" I ask him.

"No, it's cool," he says and walks into the bathroom, shutting the door behind him. I sigh and start to head to Gianna's room.

Inside her room, she's lacing up her boots and she looks...good. Better than the past few days at least. Her hair's washed and tied into a high ponytail and she changed into a green sleeveless shirt tucked into jogger pants. I lean against the doorframe.

"Hey," I greet and she looks up at me.

"Oh, hey," she smiles.

"You look awesome," I compliment.

"Thank you. You look not too bad yourself," I smile and she continues lacing up her boots.

"I've been meaning to ask...how are things between you and Andy?" she pauses for a while.

"There's nothing between us," she says.

"He means it, Gianna," I tell her.

"Means what?" she asks and looks up at me, being done with her boots.

"He loves you," she inhales deeply and stands up.

"I know, Lauren. But what can I do?" she throws her hands up in defeat.

"You could love him," I point out.

"And possibly kill him?"

"You're already killing him with this whole thing. You're pushing him away and he's being crushed slowly, which I'm sure is even worse than death by an icicle," I say firmly.

"What do you want me to do?" she sighs after a while.

"All I ask is for you to tell him the truth," I tell her.

"I already-,"

"The real truth, not the one you conjured up," I turn on my heels and leave.

I really hope she does.
