Telling The Truth

It is now Sunday. I haven't spoken to Cheryl since Friday. I decided and I'm going to tell Cheryl and Jughead the truth.

But before I tell them, I gotta ask Archie if I can. Archie's apart of the relationship too so I need to know if he's ok with this.

I unlock my phone and go to the FaceTime app. Hopefully Archie will pick up.

Archie answers after only 10 seconds of ringing.

"Hey Ronnie." I greeted.

"Hi Archiekins." I greeted back with a smile.

"What's up?" Archie asked.

"Oh, um, nothing. But I have something important to ask you." I said.

"What is it?" Archie asked.

"On Friday, when Cheryl was over, we got into a fight because she thought I was keeping too many secrets from her and Jughead. So I was thinking I could tell them about our relationship." I explained.

"You can tell them."

"Now I know- wait did you say yes?"

"Yeah. Ronnie, I could never say no to you."

"Thanks."

"You're welcome."

"Anyway, I gotta go."

"Bye."

I hung up and went to messages. I texted Jughead.

Me: I'm picking you up.

Jughead 🐺: Why? I don't want to get into the middle of you and Cheryl's fight.

Me: I'm going to apologize to her. And I have something to tell you two.

Jughead 🐺: Ok. When are you coming?

Me: Most likely 15 minutes.

Jughead 🐺: Alright. See ya then.

Me: See ya.

I turned off my phone and went downstairs.

"Mom, I'm going to hang out with Jughead and Cheryl."

"Ok. Be back by 2 o'clock because we need to go grocery shopping."

"Ok, mom. Bye."

I picked up Jughead. We went to Cheryl's house.

We went to the entrance of the house. I knocked on the door. Jason answered the door.

"Hi Jason. Is Cheryl here?" I asked.

"No." Jason replied.

We waited a moment. Jason didn't say anything else.

"Well, where is she?" Jughead asked.

"Oh, she said she went to a walk to the park." Jason replied.

"Thanks Jason." I said before me and Jughead left.

We drove to Riverdale Park. Cheryl was probably there alone. No one really went there anymore.

I parked my car in the driveway. We saw Cheryl on the almost broken swings. We walked over to her. She looked up at us.

"What do you two want?" Cheryl asked.

"Well, I'm going to do what I do best and stay out of drama. Now if you excuse me, I'll be reading what people wrote on the slides." Jughead said as he walked away.

I sat on the other swing.

"Listen Cheryl, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have snapped at you. Because of the way I acted, I'm going to tell you the truth." I said.

"About what?" Cheryl asked.

"Everything." I replied. "Jughead, come over here."

"Finally. You wouldn't believe what people wrote. Some people are really fucked up." Jughead said as he sat on the third and final swing.

"I have something really important to tell you both." I said.

"What could be so important that you hid it from us for a long time?" Jughead asked.

"I'm in a secret relationship with Archie Andrews." I said quickly but just the right speed for both of them to understand.

"Go on." They both said.

I told them everything. It took a long time, but it was worth it.

"Wow V." Cheryl said.

"I can't believe you went through all that stuff." Jughead said.

"I'm sorry I lied to you guys." I said.

"It's ok. We're just glad you told us everything." Cheryl replied.

"Are you two friends again?" Jughead asked.

Me and Cheryl looked at each other. Then we both said, "Yeah we are."

"Great. Because I was thinking we could get Pop's." Jughead stated.

"Fine. But only for an hour before I have to be home at two." I replied.

"Ok." Jughead said.

We all got up and into the car.

And while eating our burgers and milkshakes at Pop's, everything felt right.

For now, at least.
