(George POV)
“Heimdall, please try and keep your eyes as dry as possible.” Elizabeth says as we first had arrived in Midguard. Elizabeth, Jason, Patricia, I and Hiemdall had all come to the land of the mortals in seek of help for Heimdall. The soul stone inside Heimdall was creating an increasing amount of essence that's was showing itself through golden tears. We had to retrieve a specific vessel that was only found on Midguard to contain his powerful tears.
“I am doing my best, but keeping them from secreting from my eyes is proving difficult.” Heimdall tells her.
“Well try not to appear as fragile as a mortal woman and maybe we'll get through this smoothly. -ow!” Elizabeth had hit her husband over the head for his rude and derogatory statement towards women.
“How dare you! These women are very strong, especially to put up with ignorant pigs as yourself.” she snaps at him.
“Are these women not fragile? Do they not look for a man to do are their hard labor and battle for them? Do they not faint at the slightest sight of a street rat and appear as delicate flowers?” Jason states.
“These women strain their bodies for beauty and carry very heavy gowns and accessories all to appease their culture. They are strong to put their bodies through harsh conditioning everyday just to get approval from the men who want them to be this way. They may be no Asgardian woman, but they are strong for their race and culture. They endure a lot to please the unnecessary and ungrateful.” Elizabeth says. “Please. Must we do this right now?” I  say.
They both sigh. “I guess I just prefer our more stronger and fierce Asgardian women… like yourself.” Jason says kissing her hand.
“Flattery will get you nowhere.” Elizabeth says, but clearly smitten anyway.
“Come now. Let's just go. We can't keep Heimdall away from his post for too long.” Patricia says walking forward and leading our group.
“Yes. I agree completely.” Heimdall comments.
“Do you know where it is here?” I ask.
“Not exactly. I just know it's in the center of this area. We would be looking for a blue, spiritual, crystal, vial.” Patricia says.
“I guess we better start looking then.” Jason says. “Let's split up to cover more ground.”
We all agree and split up to search all around the area searching for this mysterious crystal vial. I searched in all kinds of places. Book stores, antique shops, auctions. Hell, I even went and snuck into a few houses to check if it had already been sold. Unfortunately there were some mortals still awake by the time I'd gotten there and had caused me some difficulty. It was the middle of the night and a man and his wife were still awake. What would they be doing this late at night?... Then again, the answer is quite obvious, even without the Mrs only in a robe and scandalous lingerie. It was more than a little embarrassing to be entering their home in search of a tiny vile, and potentially interrupting and ruining their intimate time together, but it was for an important cause. It wasn't difficult in a sense of taking them on, but in a sense that I had to keep them as quiet as possible as to not wake up any neighbors. I tried to be as swift as possible. I easily dispatched the husband with a hard flat hand chop to a pressure point on his neck. The wife was about to scream, but I quickly got behind her and covered her mouth holding her firmly to me. “Sh sh sh! I'm sorry! I'm sorry, okay? I'm not going to hurt you…” I whispered into her ear calmly. She was shaking and whimpering with tears flowing down her face. She was confused and scared. “Please, don't cry. I'm sorry! I was just looking for something.” She tried to look back at me. I looked at her with a pleading look. She was breathing hard, her breath rapid and hitting against my hand as she was breathing through her nose. “Um… It's late to ask this now, but if you'll excuse my rude actions, Mrs, I would like to know if you have obtained or seen a small crystal vile about… maybe no bigger than this?” I show her the estimated size with my thumb and index finger. I gently remove my hand from her mouth, but keep her in place with my opposing arm. She rapidly shakes her head. “N-no. I don't know what you're talking about! I - I - I’ve never seen anything like that before…” she stutters still scared out of her wits. I sigh. I was very frustrated, disappointed, and tired now. I searched all over the area with no luck. “Thank you, ma'am.” I say kindly and roughly pinch the pressure point on her neck making her gasp and faint. I caught her before she could hit the floor and hurt herself. I didn't want to hurt these Midguardians. I just wanted the vessel. I looked at couple. I felt remorseful for what I did. They ended up this way because of my doing. It was only right to try and make up for it. I decided to carry them up to their bed chambers and lay them to bed as if they had never gotten out in the first place. They were in the middle of sharing intimacy with each other, but I hoped that they'd forget about it and believe everything that happened was just a dream. I sigh again as I left the house the way I came. That's it. I looked everywhere in my area with no luck. Hopefully, the others had found something. I make my way back to the meeting place and by the looks of it I was the last last to arrive. Everyone was already there and by their disappointed faces, they had no luck either. “It seems I'm safe to say that I was not the only one who didn't find the vile either.” I say approaching them.
“How could you tell?” Jason says sarcastically.
“We looked everywhere…” Elizabeth says gesturing between her and her sister. “...and didn't find a single thing.”
“Not even a clue to where it might be.” Patricia says. She seemed to be the most disappointed. She always were the type to get upset when she had to do work for free. She didn't like doing anything that didn't benefit her in return.
“You cannot expect these things to be easy.” Heimdall reminds us. “We may be on Midguard, but it does not mean it'll make anything easier than if it were somewhere else. These mortals maybe weaker and more fragile than we are, but they have their own clever way of doing things.”
“We also don't know if it was a mortal who has kept and hid the vessel in the first place.” Elizabeth says. “Someone from a different realm may have brought it here and the Midguardians merely adopted it.”
“Who do you suggest brought it here then?” I ask her.
“I'm not sure. There are many realms that may-” Elizabeth suddenly stops her speech.
“That may what?” Jason asks looking at her with furrowed eyebrows.
“Hold on just a moment…” she holds her hand up silencing him. We all exchange looks of confusion wondering why the sudden change of behavior and what could possibly have caught her attention.
“What is it, sister?” Patricia asks her placing a hand on her shoulder.
“I hear something.” Heimdall states.
“You hear it too?” Elizabeth asks him making sure that wasn't just going mental. She always had good ears. Heimdall was gifted in having things across realms. It was normal normal for him to hear whatever it was.
“What? What do you hear?” I ask looking between them.
Elizabeth squints her eyes trying to listen closer. “It sounds like…”
“Crying.” Heimdall finishes. “A child crying. Listen closer.”
We all went silent straining our ears to hear what they were hearing. Sure enough, there was crying. It was faint and barely audible unless you were trying to listen for it. It sounded like it came from a small voice. The cries and whimpers didn't even sound that far away. They sounded rather close, just quiet. We looked around to seem where the sound might be coming from. “It's this way.” Heimdall tells us and leads us the way. We follow him trying to  look around and see where it was coming from even though he was taking us straight there. He turns and leads us down an alleyway. The spot wasn't illuminated by any street lamps or window candles. It could have easily been missed. It was damp and dirty. Every corner seemed to be covered in mold and scum. There were many garbage bins that had a smell of vomit mixed with sewage.  A truly filthy place for anyone, even more so a child. We a smell grimaced and gagged a little at the sight and smell of the place, except Heimdall, who remained to have a straight serious face as he continued down the dark path. We made it to a bundle of trash bins on the side of the alleyway near a small corner. The painful and sorrowful cries came from the bins. We open them, but there was nothing inside. Elizabeth and I move the bins to the side. We gasp as we see a poor infant child on the the cold cement ground crying in agony. Their eyes were crusty and puffy and snot covered their nose, mouth, cheeks, and the top of the dirty rags they were wrapped in. They were covered in sludge that was dripping from the bins and the had a big dark purple bruise forming on their face, more than likely from falling out of one of the bins.
“Oh my goodness!  It's a baby!” Patricia exclaims covering her mouth with her hand.
Heimdall gently picks up the crying child, cradling them in his arms.
“Why is there a child behind these garbage bins?! Where's the parents?! This poor child could've died out here!” Jason yells completely angered and upset.
“This child was more than likely abandoned here…” Heimdall mumbled. His face was sad and you could tell his heart was broken. He lifted the cloth wrapped around them a bit, seeming to check the gender of the baby. “The parents must have left her here in an attempt to dispose of her.”
“How could anyone abandon an infant to die out here?!” Elizabeth was yelling loudly. Her voice was even cracking and she was trying not to cry. “She doesn't look more than a few weeks old…” he voice went softer and full of sorrow.
“Why didn't they just bring her to an orphanage or… or one of their Midguardian worshiping grounds. The ones with the crosses on them. Why must they leave her here?” I ask looking closer at the infant. Heimdall tried to clean her up a bit wiping her face of sludge, dirt, tears, and mucus. He does his best to gently remove the crust from her eyes without hurting her anymore than she already was. He gently traced the large bruise on her swollen face. It went from the middle right side of her forehead down and over her eye and swallowing a big part of her cheek and ear. She was hurt. Badly. She was probably hungry and tired as well. She obviously was a complete mess and had to be tended to immediately. “Heimdall, stop! The essence is leaking from your eyes!” Elizabeth urgently tells him. I look up at him. He was crying. A strong, brave warrior was brought to tears by a hurt child. If that wasn't a noble and strong hearted man, then I don't know what is. “Hiemdall, we can't lose those tears! Stop crying!” Jason tells him.
“I'm… I- I- I’m trying…. She...She was just…” The golden tears were uncontrollably running down his face. “It's not fair for a child… it's not…”
“Heimdall, please stop…” Patricia begs him.
He bows his head in sorrow and shame. He couldn't stop the tears. He's heartbroken by the abandoned infant and he's failed his mission. Everyone sighs. The mission now a waste of time. The tears drip down his face and starts splashing onto the crying infant’s face. The child was disturbed and was wiggling and blinking rapidly as the tears were getting in her eyes, nose, and mouth. “Stop it! You're going to make her more sick! We don't know what that stuff can do!” Jason looked at the child alarmed. Then she stopped. The infant stopped crying. She was laying there silently with her eyes closed. “She… stopped…?” I muttered confused.
“Is she okay?” Patricia asks with a worried tone. She steps and leans closer to get a better look. You could see faint gold etchings going along the path of her veins.
“What have I done?” Heimdall quietly mutters in sorrow. He believed he had hurt her and could have possibly sealed her fate with death. “No no. Don't panic. We don't know what that just did.” Elizabeth says as we all look at the infant in major concern. The baby yawns big looking the most peaceful she has been since we found her, given her current state. “Awww…” the sisters melt at action. Jason and I can't help, but smile. A baby brings so much light into the world. How could such a precious one end up here? Heimdall smiles lovingly at the baby holding her closer. He's already grown attached. “I want to take her back to Asguard with us.”
“What?!” we all exclaimed in unison.
“Now, Heimdall, the child is cute and this is an unfortunate situation, but we can't just bring a mortal back to Asguard.” Jason tells him. “Midguardians don't belong there. They're meant to stay here amongst their own kind.”
“Jason’s right. We can't just take her away.” Elizabeth says. “If we're going to help her then it has to be here.”
“Why don't we take her to an orphanage ourselves?” I suggested.
“That's a good idea. That's where she should have been instead of tossed out like garbage.” Patricia nods.
“No.” Heimdall says not once taking his eyes off the sleepy girl.
“No? Heimdall, you can't keep -”
“They won't treat her kindly. They will hurt her and make her life worthless and without meaning. She would be no better off there than she was here. I do not want to subject her to that kind of life.” Heimdall says firmly and frowning with an irritated look.
“Why must you be so stubborn?” Jason sighs. “We know you care about the child, but she's a mortal. She has to stay here! She's not in the-”
“Oh my…! Guys look look!” Elizabeth starts gesturing for us to look closer at the baby. “Look at what's happened.” We all lean in close to see and the baby was waking up, probably due to our loud arguing. She squinted her eyes and blinked a few times before she opened them enough for us to be in view. We gasp. Her eyes were now a bright golden color.
“Her eyes transformed!” I hit my forehead in astonishment.
“What did we just do…?” Jason muttered worriedly.
“Well… I suppose we have to take her with us now…” Patricia sighed.
“What?! No!” Jason snapped. “That's against orders and just the rules in general! We can't bring any mortal back to Asguard!”
“What do you suppose we do then? Huh?” Elizabeth groaned and pinched the bridge of her nose. “We already failed our mission.”
“Well...not supposedly…” I speak up crossing my arms. “Our mission was to find a vessel for those tears. We did. It just… happens to be an infant.”
“I'm sure Odin didn't mean a CHILD when he told us to find a vessel!” Patricia says.
“He didn't specify otherwise.” Heimdall says firmly letting the child grab his finger.
“I think we should take her back. This is something Odin and Frigga must know and…” Elizabeth takes her husband's hand. “... she already was abandoned and needed our help. It would be cruel and heartless to leave her here like this. May I point out that even Odin did not leave an abandoned baby to die by himself.”
“This is terrible…” Jason sighs in frustration. He puts his hands over his face and groans. He takes a deep breath through his nose. “Fine… fine. Okay… we'll bring the baby back with us, but how do you know that the Alfather would even let her stay?”
“I guess we’ll just have to see…” Patricia says placing one hand on her hip and the other rubbing her face.
“I think (y/n) will be okay. I see good fortune in her life.” Heimdall smiles at the baby.
“(Y/n)? (Y/n)? Did you seriously just name the baby?!” Jason yells. “We're not going to keep the baby! How many times must I tell you.”
“Everyone! Let's just calm down. We don't know what's going to happen. Let's take her to Asguard first and explain ourselves to Odin. Once we have done so then we go from there.” I tell them hoping to appease their moods.
“I agree with George. Let's head home now. We can't keep them waiting any longer than we have to.” Elizabeth says already heading back to the entry point. We all follow. The air was thick with awkwardness, irritation, and uncertainty. I feel we will be okay. One thing was for sure. Despite just having this baby for a short amount of time, we new (Y/n) would have a big impact in our lives.

Hello, everyone.  I hope you're doing well. I hope I am not boring you with my story. I know this is a lot just to get to the main reason you all came and that was romance with Loki. What can I say? I like back story and character development. Though I too get a bit impatient when we are 14 chapters in and we still haven't interacted with Loki. You all are very patient people and we will get there soon. I promise. Until then I will see you in the next chapter!  Tootles!
