He certainly is rude about staring. Loki looks at me like an experiment he's studying. He's brought me all the way up to the library. We had sat here til the sun went down and the stars illuminate the sky shining through the roof window. I eventually grabbed a book and started to read since I knew not of his purpose of bringing me here. The silence didn't feel awkward. It was his gaze on me that was making me uneasy, but I did my best to ignore it and focus my attention on the printed words in front of me. My mind of course couldn't focus on the story, but instead wandered to the reoccurring comments I've received more than once on Loki's behavior. Beyla and Odin both seem to agree of Loki's deceiving ways and his off behavior towards me is either a trick or a fluke. It seemed to be foolish to think he'd show affection towards me...or for anything for that matter. That, in fact, was the way he was described in my book. Of course at that time I never would have thought I would grow any type of infatuation for the man purely because of his deceitful ways,... but I did. That was my mistake and now I sit here wondering what he wants. These thoughts frustrate me and now I want to know why trick he's pulling me into and I close my book and sigh through my nose. I look up at him and he raises and eyebrow at me.
"Why am I here? We've been sitting here for hours and you haven't shown any incline in your purposes." I say setting my book down on the floor. He smirked.
"You're so feisty and direct." He said walking under the sky window. He looks up at the stars. "I wanted to show you the cosmos. Show you our ancestors embedded in the stars and how we are connected to the none realms." He gestures above him at the stars looking up
"You want to constellation search?" I ask burrowing my eyebrows.
"In a way, yes." He brings his attention back to me.
"I never took you as a star gazing type of man... or god."
"There's many things you don't know about me."
"So I've heard."
"Oh?" He was curious now.
"Yes." I say simply. There was a few moments of silence. I'm sure he expected me to clarify, but I saw no need to. It was what it was.
"Why are we in the library?" I tried again.
"I told you. To show you my ancestors."
"I find it hard to believe you waited for me for so long and had me sit here all day just to show me stars I can see on my own." I cross my arms.
"Ah, but that's the thing isn't it?" He shakes his finger at the thought. "You aren't seeing it properly. I'm going to show you how to see it correctly."
"See it correctly?" I mumble watching him walk over to me. He gently takes my hand and leads me to the place he previously stood.
"What on bloody earth are you doing?" I looked at him confused and skeptical of his actions.
"Just trust me." He says.
"That's just it. I've been advised to be cautious of you. I do not trust you." I say to him. His face for a split second seemed almost hurt in a way, but it was a second, and only a second. A fast passing second and no more. His face became emotionless before turning irritated and he took a deep breath. It doesn't seem like he finds my direct nature so amusing anymore. He closes his eyes for a moment. I debated whether I should just leave. He opens them once more before his entire demeanor changes and he smiles. It seemed strained however. This was a face that is new to me. I've never seen his face a little forced before. "I just wanted to show you the stars..." He sighed. "That was it. If you don't trust me or want to be in my presence then please leave. I won't stop you, nor will I stand here and tolerate your rudeness." He says politely, but firmly. He crosses his arms behind his back and turns away from me. I now felt bad. It was true that he did nothing to me and I was being rude. All because of my paranoia on his sencereity of his affection towards me. "I-I'm sorry. I was being very rude when you just wanted to share your culture with me. Please forgive me." I bow my head apologetically. My head hangs low in shame. He turns halfway back towards me walking over and placing a hand on my head. "It's alright. Just... Please... don't do it again and respect me like I respect you."His voice has that seating sound to it. One that's mesmerizing. I just nod.
"Good. Now may I show you what you've never seen before?" He asks, his smile growing wider.
"Yes, of course." I smile kindly back.
"Alright. Stand here." He grasps both my upper arms moving me directly under the sky window. I look up seeing the bright stars and the moon moving across the sky almost lining up directly in the center of the sky window. It was so large and round and showed it's bright pale complextion.
"The moon will get in the way of the stars." I tell him.
"No. The moon is exactly how it should be." His voice seemed to get darker. "Just focus on the sky and you will see." He nonchalantly walks over and grabs that book he's always carrying. He starts flipping through the pages as he makes his way back over. "What are you doing?" I ask him looking at the book.
"..." He pauses seeming to find an answer before flipping through again. "Trying to find the right information to help you see what I'm referring to in the stars."
"...oh."
"Now look to the sky and keep your gazed focused on the moon and stars."
"Uh...okay." I watch the moon close into the center of the window. It was so beautiful. "Oh wow..." I look at Loki. "Loki, the moo-"
"Keep your eyes on the sky!" He snaps at me. He starts mumbling words I don't understand under his breath as he reads from the book.
"What? What the bloody hell-"
"The moon! Look at the moon!" He yells at my gesturing to the moon and quickly starts murmuring again.
I furrow my eyebrows and look back at the moon. There was nothing going on with the moon. It was normal.
"What's wrong with...." My gaze locks onto the moon and it turns gold and seems like it's getting closer. I'm mesmerized by it. It feels like the sky has absorbed me and I zoom through the cosmos. Stars swish past and everything moves in fast forward. Then pause. There's a cold tundra. Snow and frost everywhere with heavy winds. A snowy wasteland. Fast foward. Pause. Now hot hot lava everywhere. Crusted rock dripping down the walls and complete darkness only illuminated by the dull distant light of liquid fire. Fast forward. Pause. Lush greenery. Fast forward. Pause. Desert. Fast forward. Pause. Nothing, but water. Fast forward. Pause. Fast forward. Pause. Fast forward. Pause. Scenery after scenery after scenery zooms by making my head feels like it's going to split in two and like I'm going to be sick. Pause. Everything stops. It all stops in the familiar setting. Midguard. Home.Hello, everyone. It's been a bit, but here's the next chapter. Enjoy and I'll see you in the next chapter. Toodles!
