Ashley's POV
I woke up from the noise out of my room. I look at my side noticing that Aiden isn't by my side. 'I guess he went back to his room while I was sleeping,' I thought to myself as I shrug it off.
I get out of my bed and walk out of my room trying to find where the noise come from. Once I walk out of my room, the surroundings change. I see nothing but clouds that I kind of think that's what heaven look like. "What the hell?" I blurt out loud.
"Whoa watch your language my friend" a soft voice said behind me.
I turn around to see who it is. My eyes are wide as tears steaming up in my eyes. "Erin?"
"Hello my friend," she said with a gentle smile as I run toward her to give her a tight hug.
"I missed you!" I sobbed.
"I missed you too friend. How are you doing?" she asked.
"I'm doing well."
"I heard about you made a new friend."
"Yeah, her name is Sam," I said as there are some things are back of my mind.
"Something is troubling you?" she asked.
"Yes and no. Well first off, I feel like Sam is going through tough times. I don't know what it is, but I'm willing to help her," I answered.
"There's more isn't there?"
"I like her. I like her more than a friend and..." I said as I tried my best to fight off some tears, "and I want to be there for her so bad."
"I see..." she said nodding her head.
"I don't want to lose her like I lost you..."
"Ash, you did everything you can to be there for me. You impact my life, you give me the chance to find some light and happiness in my life. Now you're doing the same for Sam."
"Erin, before I go back to reality. Can you give me some ideas what Sam been going through in her life?"
"I won't tell you everything that I know, but I'll tell you some parts of her life. Before the tragic happened, Sam used to be a happy girl. She lived in a huge house with her rich family alongside with her two older siblings. One day... there were a group of burglars, who decide to rob her house. Her parents were the first ones to go. Ash told Skyla to save their young sister and herself. Skyla runs off with Sam while Ash tried to fight off the burglars, but he end up killed. When Skyla realize that Ash was killed she didn't had a choice but to hide Sam in a secret room where no one knows about it. Before Skyla end up the same fate as Ash and her parents, she called the police and let them know that there's a secret room which the police found Sam alive while they see four bodies."
"Fuck... it must be really hard for her at that age..." I commented while I feel like my heart string is going to break.
"Indeed. After that tragic, Sam was scare and confuse. That's where things started. At age 8 she was adopted by a young woman, but it didn't work out for Sam with school or at home."
"What happened?"
"She was bullied by her classmates and once she get home from school, her former adopted mother yelled at her and she won't able to listen to Sam. After the first adopted mom had enough, she returns her at the orphanage, because of that most kids pick on her."
"What the fuck is wrong with them?"
"Like most people around the world, there are people who only care about themselves. To be honest, I don't blame Sam for having trust issue or not telling anyone about her problems."
"Yeah... I don't blame her either."
"I know you, Mark and rest of her friends will make an impact in her life. It will take a lot of time to gain her trust. When the time has come, Sam will tell you the rest of her problems."
"Erin wait, before you go. Any advice for me to tell her that I love her?" I asked.
"Well I can't really help you on that, but I would say just to follow your heart and ask her out if you think the time is right. Believe in yourself, my friend."
"Thank you Erin, have a great life in the afterlife."
"Have a great life and good luck with your journey."
Before Erin and I go to our separate ways, we both give each other one last goodbye hug.
"See you soon my friend..." she said as she slowly vanish.
"Goodbye..." I said as tears streaming down my cheeks.
I wake up from the dream. I turn to see Aiden still sleeping beside me. 'I'm glad you haven't gone back to your room Aiden,' I smile. Aiden wakes up and he playfully tackles me. "Good morning little brother!" I laughed.
"Morning sis!" he yelled. While Aiden and I are rough housing, I notice that dad was at my door.
"Hi dad, what's up?" I asked as Aiden look up to his dad while he's on top of me.
"Hi kids... your mother left," he said.
"Already?" I asked which my dad nod.
"But she didn't say goodbye to any of us..." Aiden said in disappointment and sound a bit hurt.
"Dad, doesn't mom love us?" I asked.
"She love you two very much in her heart, but she isn't the mother we all know and love right now," dad sighed.
I look at Aiden as he looks like he's hurt in the inside. I hug him real tight, "everything is going to be okay Aiden."
He looks up to me and nod, "okay."
"Come on kids, I have to take you to school," dad said as he walk out of my room.
"Okay dad," I respond. "Come on little brother get to your room and be ready." Aiden walks out of my room before I change into my clothes that I'm wearing for today. 'Today is going to be a better day!' I thought to myself optimistically.
