"Watch your thoughts, they become words;
watch your words, they become actions;
watch your actions, they become habits;
watch your habits, they become character;
watch your character, for it becomes your destiny." -Frank OutlawBullying and Cyberbullying are today's help session topic, and those words by Frank Outlaw could never be truer in life.
Kind thoughts become kind words. Kind words become kind actions. Kind actions become kind habits. Kind habits become a kind character. A kind character leads to a kind destiny.
Mean thoughts become mean words. Mean words become mean actions. Mean actions become mean habits. Mean habits become a mean character. A mean character leads to a mean destiny.
Which destiny would you rather have in the end?
Here's what's going to go down in today's help session:
If any of you are or have ever been a victim, a bully, a bystander, or an upstander, share your stories in letter format in the comments below and explain how it feels to be in that position and let me read them so I can give you some advice on how to handle that, and if you wish to share your story to the world so you can make a difference in your life and everyone else's lives, contact taytiger and ask for your letter to be published in their 'Dear Bully' book, and go give them a follow while you're at it. They are the kindest, smartest, most incredible person I have ever met and it would be a big help to them and the world if you did share your story, and they can help you with that.
"We but mirror the world. All the tendencies present in the outer world are to be found in the world of our body. If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change.100 As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. This is the divine mystery supreme. A wonderful thing it is and the source of our happiness. We need not wait to see what others do." – Mahatma Gandhi
P.S. if you're stumped on what to write, you could borrow someone else's words and go from there, just be sure to credit the owner of the words you borrowed.
Ex. Dear Bully,
As Renée Elise Goldsberry said in Lin-Manuel Miranda's words:
Congratulations.
You have invented a new kind of stupid.
A 'damage you can never undo' kind of stupid.
An 'open all the cages in the zoo' kind of stupid.
'Truly, you didn't think this through?' kind of stupid.
Let's review... etc. etc.
