Later on that week, I was in the hall trying to find out a way to stop Eli for good. I decided to talk to the best inspector I knew. "Hey Ron," I said as I turned around where he was polishing the silver, “How do I get evidence on somebody who is close to Father but without Father knowing?"
"Well that is a tough one" Ron said as he motioned me to sit down beside him. "Can you follow him?" I shook my head.
" He's helping Father with the coming war which worries me. With the things I know about this man, he’s not one to trust and he's going to be high in command." Father had gotten a letter from the King/ his brother asking for his help in this war a while ago. Those brothers always do major things together. “Ah its Eli is it not." Ron said with a smile
" Yes but that's not the point. I need to get evidence but the only way that I have is one for sure victim and one maybe victim. “I said.
“Maybe meaning you?" Ron said as he put down the spoon.
"Yeah.” I said “I didn't know what happened, which is just about true, but I remember some things. Only it's fuzzy." I said as I looked down. Ron pulled me into hug.
"We'll get to the bottom of this." He said "Who else is on your team?"
"Elizabeth and Else" I said as I got up.
"Get them together at 10 tonight in your room." Ron said as he picked up the spoon again. I waved good bye and ran to find Elizabeth. When I got into the hall however, Eli grabbed my hand and pulled me into an empty room.
“You little” he said as he yanked on my hair. I gasped in pain as he threw me onto the floor.
“You’re going to pay for what you did.” Eli said as he grasped my throat. Then Elizabeth came in and yanked him off me. Else threw him out of the room and they both sat me into a chair.
“Are you all right?” Elizabeth asked as she put her hand on my shoulder.
I took some deep breathes and said “We need to stop this. Tonight.”
