Jacob's Imprint

CH 6: Inner Wolf

*Jacob's POV*

I was currently patrolling alone as punishment for upsetting Jasmine. I was in hot water already with Leah, and I could only hope that Jasmine would talk to me but I highly doubt it. I had upset her. My imprint.

'I'm such an idiot.'

'You can say that again.'

I quickly looked around but I saw that I was alone.

'Who are you?!'

'You really are an idiot! I'm your inner wolf!'

'My inner wolf?! I didn't even know about you!'

'I've been lying dormant in your subconscious waiting for the right time to reveal myself. Now seems like a good time.'

'And why did you choose now to show up?!'

'You've upset your imprint. That in itself is an inexcusable act.'

'I know! I wasn't thinking when I said those words!'

'I'll say. You've caused her pain and for what? A girl that would willingly be a vampire and leave the first chance she gets as soon her vampire lover comes back into the picture.'

'That's not true! Bella will love me back!'

'In denial I see. She'll never love you back Jacob. It's time you face that reality. Besides, that Bella girl will bring you nothing but trouble. Like right now. Just being around her has caused you  to be rude to your imprint.'

'How do you know about Edward leaving Bella?'

I could practically hear him scoff in my mind.

'I'm your inner wolf remember? I hear what you hear. I see what you see. Feel what you feel.'

'Besides you've got some making up to do. Especially to your alpha female, She'll have your head if you don't apologize to her friend.'

I sigh.

'I know. What can I do?'

'Do I really have to tell you everything? Find out what your imprint enjoys to do!'

'That's a good idea!'

'You're welcome.'

Our conversation is cut short by a howl and I feel the others phase, through the pack mind I can see them at the edge of the forest watching Bella speak with a red-eyed leech.

As I race to where they are, I can't help but think about getting to Bella in time before the leech can do any harm.

It doesn't take me long to reach them. We race into the clearing and we chase it.

Just as it seems like we won't be able to catch him, a black panther seemingly comes out of nowhere and takes him down. First, it removes his arms making him scream in agony and then it goes for his legs.

It was the most amazing thing I had ever witnessed.

Leah lets out a bark to get the Panther's attention and it stops.

Once it turns around and faces us, I can see that its eyes are an icy blue.

It gives each of us look and it seemed to look at me the longest before it takes off and we burn the remains of the leech with what we just witnessed in the back of our minds.
