Chapter 3: Late night runs and a bonfire

*Jasmine's POV*

It's been 2 days since I moved down here to LaPush, I've been keeping myself busy by working on my motorcycle and doing some late night runs sometimes in my panther form or in my human form. I enjoy running in my panther form because I love feeling the wind through my fur, the sound of my paws against the dirt floor of the forest floor.

It was something I would never get tired of, but I knew that it would have to come to a end soon so I began to head back to my house after shifting back to my human form and putting on my clothes once I reach my house, I head inside just in time to hear my phone ringing. I answer after a quick glance at the caller ID and I see that it's Leah calling.

Hello?

"Hey, Jasmine! There's a bonfire tonight! Do you want to come?"

A bonfire? I've never been to one before but it might be fun.

Sure. What time does it start?

"At 8 P.M. sharp."

What's the dress code?

"You can wear something comfortable."

I sighed in relief and so did my beast. She hated feeling constricted.

Cool. I'll talk to you later.

"Talk to you later Jas."

After I hear Leah hang up, I glance at my phone and see that it's 6:02 P.M.

'Hmm. I have some time to kill.'

'I'll say.' My beast replied making me jump a little.

'Geeze. You know I hate it when you do that, Pardus*.'

I could hear her rumbling chuckle through the link we shared my thoughts. It was soothing.

'My apologies Jasmine. I didn't mean to frighten you.'

'It's okay. Where have you been? I haven't heard from you in months.'

'I've been resting in the recesses of your mind until you need me or until I have to take over when you're in danger.'

That always sends chills down my spine.

'Am I in danger?'

'No but I'll do whatever it takes to protect you.'

This makes me smile, I haven't had anyone care for me so much other than Leah.

'Thank you pardus.'

'You're welcome my dear.'

I blink a few times since talking to pardus always left me in a daze, I glanced at the time on my phone and saw it was 7:30 so I hurried and got dressed in a pair of shorts, sneakers, tank top and a plaid shirt over my tank top.

Leah texted me the directions to first beach and once I had it memorized, I slipped my phone into my pocket and made sure my house was locked up before I got on my motorcycle and headed to first beach.

*Leah POV*

I was currently waiting for my friend Jasmine to show up to the bonfire which was about to start soon, I spotted Isabella Swan next to my pack brother Jacob Black, it made me sick how she continues to lead him on and he doesn't even know it.

Hopefully, Jasmine can help him realize it, my thoughts are cut off by the sound of a motorcycle and the scent of Lilac mixed with vanilla which caught the attention of the wolves that had already phased including Jacob which made me smirk since it got his attention off of Bella.

I got up and made my way over to Jasmine just as she was getting off her motorcycle.

"Finally! I thought you weren't going to make it!" I commented making her laugh.

"Chill Lee I'm here. Aren't I?"

I chuckle. "Yes you are come on, the stories are about to start and I'll introduce you to everyone afterward."

I link arms with her and had her sit next to Sam and I just as Old Quil began the legends.
