"May I help you ma'am?"

Beau looked up at the menu that belonged Johnny Rockets in the mall's food court. She pondered for a second, everything looked good when you're hungry. Her eyes scanned the menu until she landed on something that looked extremely good.

"Yes," She continued peering at the worker in front of her," Can I have the Bacon Cheddar Double, with Cheese Fries, the Apple Pie Ala Mode, and ummm..a sprite with a cherry flavor shot." She finished off with a smile.

"Will that be it?"

"Yup."

The server looked at her oddly before shaking his head, and punching the order into the computer. Beau smirked.

"Your total is $15.65."

Beau placed her paper shopping bags on either side of her and reached into her cross body bag and pulled out her wallet, before handing him her debit card. She sighed and shifted her weight on one foot, her silver Steve Maddens were doing a number on her.

He slid the card and handed it back along with receipt.

"Thanks." Beau grabbed it and stuffed it back into her wallet, then tucked it into her purse. She picked up her bags and sat down at a nearby table.

Beau looked up from her phone and watched the people around them. Families, friends.. and couples. They all looked so carefree, and happy-go-lucky, as if they didn't have a care in the world. Beau leaned back in the metal chair and sighed. People were so jaunty. She pulled back up and grabbed her Iphone and opened a new game of Fruit Ninja. She couldn't play Words with Friends because frankly she didn't have any, with an exception of Stephanie, of course.

She smirked, she had an Iphone. Beau remembered when she used to despise that phone, vowing that she would never get one. She'd call the people flocking to the stores to get on, naive followers.

And now she had one.

'Guess I'ma hypocrite.' Beau thought slicing a pineapple.

"Excuse me ma'am," Beau looked towards the counter. The worker held up her bag of food. Beau nodded and put her phone in her purse. She stood up and grabbed her shopping bags, shifting them in one bag before grabbing her food and leaving.

----

The sun was blazing today, almost unbearable actually. Beau was almost tempted to turn around and walk back into the air conditioner. She stood in one spot and squinted her eyes searching for her car.

She spotted her black pt cruiser and tried to estimate the distance from where she was standing to her car.

She shrugged, challenge accepted.

Beau began her trek, the asphalt seemed to add a billion more degrees as the heat bounced back up and around her.

"It's hotter than the devil's asshole." She spoke to no one in particular.

She sauntered down the isle, wishing that she could run on air or some shit. It was super hot, Beau contemplating a couple of times to just strip, walk to her car as a damn nudist.

After forever, Beau reached her car and popped her trunk. She placed the shopping bags into the trunk and closed it.

Something caught her eye, a red 1971 Dodge Challenger, and it looked so familiar.

"Beau?" David.

Beau sighed and turned around to see David standing with some girl, and it wasn't the one she remembered from that one night.

"You know, I saw your car when I parked, but I was like no, it couldn't be that crazy bitch." David sneered, and the girl laughed.

Beau cocked an eyebrow, he was a waste of oxygen.
