Beau looked out the window at the passing greenery. She exhaled heavily and drummed her fingers on her exposed midriff.

She couldn't shake the feeling she had in her stomach, and it was making her situation ten times worse.

"You okay?" She felt Parker's hand fall on her thigh. He gave it a reassuring squeeze.

"How much further is the hotel?" All she wanted to do was lay down and take a nap. The flight was long and tedious.

She fumbled with her phone and checked the time, which read 5:47 pm.

"Change of plans," He shook his head and focused on the road,"We're staying at my parents for this week."

"We're what?!" Beau's eyes bugged out of their sockets.

Grace leaned up from her seat and placed a hand on Beau's shoulder,"You'll be okay. Trust me, my parents are nice, they love me. So they'll love you."

Beau shook her head, the feeling in her stomach intensifying,"They're your parents, they're programmed to love- Besides look at my clothes!"

Beau wanted to wear something comfortable for the flight, so she opted on wearing a loose, high-waisted maxi skirt and a flowing spaghetti-strapped crop top.

"What's wrong with the way you're dressed?" Parker asked confused.

"It's not appropriate! First impressions are everything, and I can't meet your parents dressed like this." Beau groaned and placed her fingers on her temple and begin to rub dutifully.

"You look fine. Besides the way you dress represents who you are. I want my parents to meet you, the real you. The person I'm with, the person that's carrying my child-"

Beau sat up,"You haven't told them I'm pregnant, have you?!"

Parker shook his head,"No. We're going to tell them together. Grace," Grace looked at her brother in the review mirror,"Don't speak to anyone about the pregnancy."

She sulked, but nodded in agreement.

"Why are we staying at your parents this week?"

Parker turned off the highway and onto a residential street. Beau knew they were close.

"The hotel I had wanted wasn't available. But this will be much better, you'll see."

Beau seriously doubted that, besides there were plenty of other hotels they could have stayed in," Why am I just finding this out now?"

"Because I probably would of had a hard time getting you on that plane." He tried a little humor, but when he saw the uneasiness on her face, he took her hand into his,"Everything will be fine."

Beau pulled her hand away and clasped her hands together, mumbling obscenities.

She needed time to prepare herself to see them. The thought of meeting them in less than ten minutes rubbed her the wrong way.

Parker told her that they were devout Catholics, what if they didn't like the way she carried herself?

Or even worse, what if they thought their son was too good for her?

That would set their whole relationship back, it wouldn't have mattered as much if she wasn't pregnant. But if they didn't like her, they probably wouldn't like her child either.

And the thought of that hurt Beau to the core.

Parker looked over at Beau who was clearly having an internal battle with herself. He grew worried, maybe this wasn't such a good idea.
