Around 2000 BCE (Somewhere in India):

The Sun was about to set and the sky had acquired a hue of pinkish-red. A cool gentle breeze was blowing. A trail of dust emerged as a horse galloped.
Rudra jumped from his horse Vayu and patted him for his excellent speed and control. He was bare chested revealing his muscular arms and torso. He had a Rudraksh bracelet on his wrist. As it was common that time, he had his long hair tied into a bun.

Meanwhile Mahendra returned from his sword fighting practise. He came up to Rudra and said, "Done with riding of your overpampered horse?"
"No offence, but my 'overpampered' vayu is certainly better than yours!" Rudra joked pointing to Mahendra's horse.
"We will debate over it some other day. As of now, let's go and have a drink, what say?"
"On one condition, if cannabis is available." Rudra said exciting up.
"You have to leave its addiction Rudra," Mahendra sighed, "Ok, done for now."

Rudra and Mahendra were close friends from childhood. They were born in the same village, studied in the same gurukul and joined the army together.
Some say that they were the best warriors King Vallabha ever had. It was indeed true, no man in the entire kingdom of Narsal would be foolish enough to challenge them for a duel.
And due to their skills and intellect, each had become the commander of one of the ten parts of King's army.
