Rudra galloped on his horse hacking anyone who came in his way. He could see men fighting around him. His trident was piercing the bodies of dacoits, two at a time, while injuring the third one if he was near. The unfortunate ones got attacked by the hooves of galloping vayu, his horse.
The head of bandits, who had already killed around 30 of the soldiers, glanced at Rudra and Mahendra. What fine warriors those men are! If I would be alive to fight with him..... He thought, he couldn't help admiring.
Meanwhile Mahendra got down from his horse and was mercilessly hacking the bodies of the enemies with his two swords. A man from left attacked him on the chest. Mahendra was a little late and the sword made a shallow cut. He gave an expression that would have terrified the man for his life, Mahendra made it easier by cutting his neck in one clean swing. By this time, around 10 men had surrounded him. Rudra saw it from the distance, turned and kicked his horse for speed.
Mahendra was cornered, he was rotating. None of the men attacked, but they were ready. Mahendra knew that one wrong move could take away his life. And then out of nowhere, Rudra appeared on his horse and with the speed of lightning, he penetrated the bodies of two of the men with his trident. Mahendra saw an oppurtunity and whirled in a full circle mid-air, bringing death to five more men. The remaining two ran away.
"Thank you." Mahendra said.
Rudra winked and said, "Let's get the chief of these barbarians. He's there," pointing towards the Sardar.
"He has killed many of our men. Let's go." Mahendra mounted his horse and they galloped. The battle had been going on for last one-and-half hour and now, very few men were alive. The forest road had turned red due to the blood of the dead.
The head of dacoits, saw the warriors coming. He smiled at himself.
