Sundarman and his army had reached the outskirts of the city. They destroyed the villages there and burnt the houses. Maharaj Vallabha and Devaki could witness it from the high fortress.

Sundarman planned to attack the fort with the first rays of Sun. According to the rules, he had sent a peace treaty to the king before starting the battle.

"I am the messenger of Dholapur kingdom. I have come here to make peace."
"Why, is your army scared to attack?" Vallabha said arrogantly.
The messenger was expressionless. He knew his job well.
"Give us half of your kingdom and wealth and we will spare all your lives."
"War will be better. Go inform your commander before I kill you." Vallabha took out his sword and pointed at the messenger.

Everyone went to arrange for the battle that would commence the next day.

The time was passing faster than ever. There was a deathly silence in the whole city. Everyone was praying to their gods to save themselves from the hands of death and destruction. Even the wind ceased to blow.

20000 men were ready with Sundarman and Anumak to attack the fort and siege it. Their weapons ready and the lust of blood in their eyes.

Here Maharaj Vallabha and his army of 12000 men were in standby position. The enemy could attack anytime. The Sun would rise in two hours and the bloodbath would begin. The soldiers wore a mixed expression of nervousness and spark in their eyes. it was the time when their kingdom needs their help and they could prove themselves worthy.

"Rudra it's still take us half a day to reach." Mahendra exclaimed, they were still riding.
"Let it be. I hope that our army keeps the enemies engaged till then. FASTER!!" Rudra shouted and kicked his horse.

The Sun had just risen. The beating of the war drums and conch shells had already started. The soldiers on both sides arranged themselves in ranks. the infantry was forward and the cavalry behind it. The mighty war elephants were also brought out by their mahouts.

Maharaj had half his army stationed inside the fort with archers ready with longbows. They were outnumbered but they had clear advanatage of the fort and archers.

"Dhanush (Bow) formation." One of the generals announced. The soldiers immediately arranged themselves in a semicircular position.

Sundarman hadn't changed his formation. They were standung in straight rows. As the attack was not defensive, the cavalary was placed at par with the infantry.

"ATTACK!" Sundarman announced.
A conch shell inicating the attack was blown and a massive red flag was raised up. The soldiers started moving at the fort. Sundarman and Anumak mounted their horses and spurred in gallop.

"JAI SHREE RAM!" Maharaj Vallabha announced as everyone took their weapons out ready for the defense. They could see the enemies moving towards. The battle had started, now there was no turning back . They had to fight for their motherland.

The armies clashed and the battle started.
