Even The Blind Can See

Don't Underestimate Me

*hopefully I can write this chapter in a day or two instead of two weeks lol*
*well actually it's been months 0-0*

My eyes slowly blinked open only to see darkness...
I quickly tapped my headboard to see my surroundings and the previous days events came flooding back to me. (Ugh the genin test is today...) i quickly heard a knock at his door.
"Naruto breakfast is downstairs, hurry up will ya!" Shouted his sister Shizune.
"Hai! I'll be there!" I quickly dressed myself in my usual attire and gently made for down stairs.

"Ah Naruto! Glad to see you made it." Laughed Tsunade. "Yeah yeah." I grumbled feeling for the dining table. I sat down and felt for chopsticks and I began to eat my breakfast that I could smell consisted of pancakes with blueberry syrup.
"Don't forget to eat fruits Naruto!" Scolded Tsunade.
I just nodded poking at the bowl of fruit magically taking all the strawberries.
"Hey! I wanted some of those!" Joked Kakashi. I laughed at my Nii-San and I stood up feeling for the exit. "Naruto you're done already? W-wait!" Tsunade called after him pulling him for a hug and a kiss on the cheek. "Ugh Kaasan!" I shouted rubbing my cheek. "Good luck on the test Naruto!" I smiled at my Kaasan before I left out the door. I used my sonar like sight and I managed to avoid bumping into any villagers but my cane gave me away of my blindness. Many people whispered about me wondering who would leave such a helpless boy to fend for himself but I just scowled and ignored them. Finally I found the academy and when I addressed the lady at the desk...I didn't asked her name oops.
She gave off an odd pity vibe.
"Excuse me but the disabled center is over at the hospital..." she told me as if I couldn't hear too.
"Um no im here to take the Genin exam, my name is Naruto Senju.." I said to her trying not to smack the shit out of her with my cane.
"Oh! Of course my deepest apologies! Right this way!" She leaped from her chair and bowed and snatched my arm dragging me up two flights of stairs. "Here you go this is Iruka-sensei's classroom...again my deepest apologies." The Lady Bowed again but I just ignored her and knocked on the door. I felt a breeze on my face letting me know someone opened the door and I assumed it was this Iruka character.
"Excuse me are you lost?" A polite voice asked me but I looked dead at him.
"I'm here to take the genin exam, my name is Naruto Senju." As soon as I said my name I could feel the man's fear at his words.
"Oh of course I apologize come on in we're about to start!" He gently took my elbow and guided me in and I could hear gasps throughout the whole room.
"Naruto-San my name is Iruka, you can call me Iruka Sensei now please introduce yourself to the class." Iruka told me placing me right in front of everyone. I paused though, there was so many unique chakras throughout the room and I could see everyone's outline and they all were staring at me.
(These chakras must be clan heirs.) I thought but a quick tap brought me back to reality.
"I apologize I was just trying to figure out where to speak to...my name is Naruto Senju, I like training, listening to the rain, dumplings, my nii-san, and animals. I dislike thunder, loud obnoxious people, criminals, shoes, and judge mental people. My goal is to become strong enough that I am no longer seen as weak due to my disability. And my dream is....to one day become hokage." I said but I was interrupted by a loud obnoxious laughter.
"Ha Ha Ha! You! Hokage! Please!" Laughed a boy getting others to laugh.
"Kiba! That is enough!" Scolded Iruka making him just lightly chuckle.
"Hinata could you please come and guide Naruto to the seat between you and Shikamaru please." Politely Asked Iruka.
"H-hai I-Iruka s-Sensei." She stuttered But her chakra caught my attention. It was a lavender color but warm and friendly but yet timid.
"N-naruto-kun p-please g-grab m-my shoulder." Hinata stuttered taking my hand and placing it to her left shoulder and she guided me up the steps.
Through my sonar I felt the vibration of someone stick their foot out to trip me but I played along after all the power of underestimating is deadly.
"Agh!" I Hissed as my chin connected a step.
"N-Naruto-kun!" Hinata Cried Quickly turning to check on me. But the voice I found out to be Kiba snickered and I knew it was him, he reeked of dog.
I quickly got up and smiled down at her surprising everyone I knew where she was.
"I'm okay Hinata-san." I told her and I took her shoulder again. Hinata though had a blush that he couldn't see.
"H-here n-Naruto-kun." Hinata gently guided me to the seat.
"Thank you Hinata-san." I smiled in her direction.
I sat in the seat but someone to my left startled me a bit. His chakra was dark like a shadow but he wasn't evil no not at all it felt lazy.
"Who are you?" I asked to the person to my left.
"Wha? How did you know I was here?" I heard a lax voice say.
"Well Iruka Sensei gave you away earlier but I can hear you breathing." I answered truthfully.
"Oh...right. I'm Shikamaru Nara and to my left is choji uh he's the guy making the munching noises.
"Oh I thought I heard someone eating chips." I chuckled but a slam on my desk pulled me from Shikamaru.
"Here is your written test." Hissed an adult male voice but it wasn't Iruka. Everyone just stared at Mizuki stunned that he just did that to a blind kid.
I flinched hearing him drop something on my desk and when I heard him walk away I reached to feel the fallen object and it was a pencil.
(He really expects me to write and somehow read?) I mentally scoffed. Iruka was stunned at the sight of his friend and colleague Mizuki.
"Mizuki how do you expect Naruto to read the test?" I heard Iruka say.
"I don't know it's not my problem." Mizuki shot back. I wanted to get up a launch a boulder at this asshole's head but I took a breath and closed my eyes. I lightly guided my fingers over the page trying to read but I noticed something.
(The ink has minerals!) I smiled and I was able to figure out the words on the paper.
(Good thing your Kaasan still taught you the alphabet even though you could never read well until know.) i mentally nodded in agreement. I could feel all the eyes of me as they watched me read with my hands and write my answers.
