1 WEEK LATER

Shayla's P.O.V.

I sat on my bunk playing on my phone. I've barely made friends here. Hannah sometimes talks to me but not much. My other roommate is an annoying blonde.

I feel bad for Hannah being stuck with Mia, the blonde, for as long as she has. Han has been here for a year almost. I've been here for a week and I've dreaded every minute.

I wanted to escape this hell hole but how? I had no money. The police probably found the hospital I've been living in so I can't go back there. I kept thinking and thinking until...

"I need someone to go to the grocery for me!" Yelled Angie, the house mother.

Hell. To. The. Finally!

I jumped out of my bed and ran to Angie before anyone else could.

"Me and Hannah can!" I blurted out.

Hannah looked up at me like I was nuts! I gave her a look that said "we can get outta here!"

Her eyes widened. She stood up and timidly said, "um... Yeah sure. I can go with Shay." For some reason she gulped.

I smiled and looked at Angie. I gave her the "now?" Look. She nodded and gave me the grocery list.

I grabbed it with great force and stuck it in my hoodie pocket. I headed towards my room to get my phone. Hannah came in.

"What are you doing?" She asked while scratching her head.

"I'm busting us out of here! Aren't you sick of this place?"

"Well.. Eh yeah kinda. How are you going to do it?"

"We'll travel to LA! They'll never find us there."

"That's a long way Shayla."

"Only like a 1 or 2 days walk. We'll deal with it."

"Oh erm okay!"

We headed out. Hannah stuck to me like velcro! I knew exactly where I was going because of all the running I've done.

We came upon a park just outside of Hollywood. I noticed a few clothes left on a bench. No one's around so why not. I grabbed Hannah's arm and ran towards the bench. I scrummaged through the clothes and found a jacket.

"Here try this on"

"Um what why?"

"Just do it. It'll come in handy"

"Uh okay"

Perfect fit! I flipped the hood up onto her head.

"What's this for?"

I spotted an officer and explained to Hannah feeling quite rushed, "this! Act natural!"

We walked calmly away from the bench without the police trooper noticing. Whew!

I ran into an ally with my friend. Wow. I have a friend! I flipped my hood off my head and wiped my head.

"Wh-why were we running. Or eh... Walking?"

"You need a hoodie to hide your face. Since you'll be hanging out with me, you'll need one!"

"Oh..."

"Yeah yeah. Uuuh... lets go!"

~~~~~~~~~~LATER~~~~~~~~~~~
"We've been walking for hours Shaaaay!" Hannah whined.
"Please. We're almost to LA."
"I'm hungry though. When are we going to eat?"
"It's about time I teach you the great art of pick pocketing!"
"Pick pocketing?"
"You'll have fun with this Han!"
"Hehe. Alright!"
I smiled and went into a mall. I scoped out a target. I went over to Hannah and whispered, "watch and learn!"
I normally walked up to the woman and "accidentally" bumped into her. I swiftly swiped her wallet from her purse.
"Oh pardon me ma'am!" I said politely.
"It's alright dear." She replied back.
Her wallet was in my hoodie. I quickly picked out a $20 dollar bill and without anyone noticing, casually dropped the wallet on the ground.
I looked around and went back to Hannah.
"Okay walk away walk away!" I whispered.
When we got around a corner, I showed her the bill. Her mouth dropped in amazement I guess. I am pretty good at picking pockets and purses.
"Okay now you try!" I said while weakly slapping Hannah's arm.
"Uh... uh I don't think I'll be as quick and good as it as you." She said looking at the ground.
"Practice makes perfect!" I smiled while patting her shoulder.
"Look over there at that guy! He's a good target."
"The guy with the crowd around him?"
"Yeah yeah!"
"Alright..." Hannah said nervously while taking a deep breath.
I watched as she timidly walked over to the tall guy. He has A LOT of girls around him!
Hannah bumped into him. I didn't see her take his wallet though. Come on! It's in his back pocket girl! Just get it! Ah! To late.
I could tell Hannah was sweating. I ran over to her. The guy turned around before I got there. Hannah looked over at me and my eyes widened.
Is this happening? Oh. My. Gosh! Both our mouths dropped in shock of who stood before us. What. The. Hell.
