He was gonna pull the sliding door open but a sob escaped his lips and he hung his head in defeat. He covered his face with his hands and let himself cry. It almost felt good since he hadn't cried this hard in so long, but the fresh guilt Kirstie had inflicted still made it painful. Mitch heard the door slowly slide open in front of him and felt warm arms encircle him, his head now nestled into the crook of Beau's neck. The hands rubbing small slow circles on his back helped to calm him and eventually, they just stood holding each other and swaying. "Are you okay? Do you want to talk about it?" Beau leaned back and grabbed Mitch's chin pulling his face up so he could look into his eyes.

"Um", he hesitated, wincing at the thought of telling his boyfriend that he was crying over another man, but he continued anyway. "It's Scott. I know it's been, like, over a year but Kirstie..." he sighed and pulled back from Beau. "I just..." Beau frowned at him and he couldn't make himself finish telling him. He knew Beau wouldn't understand. By the time they had started dating, PTX was pretty much over and it didn't get serious until after he and Scott stopped communicating. Mitch didn't want to talk about Scott to Beau back then, so he was sure his boyfriend was still clueless as to what happened and how close he and Scott actually used to be. "Look, I think... I think I'm gonna go stay with parents in Texas for a week or so."

"Oh, well, I'll come with you. Maybe I can actually meet them now. It has been two years." He tried to joke but Mitch wasn't feeling it.

"No", he winced. "I mean", he immediately softened his voice. "I just want some time to myself and I am really missing them. It'll be boring anyways. I was just gonna stay home the whole time. There is nothing to do in Arlington." He saw a flash of hurt cross Beau's face and he looked down to the ground.

"Oh, um, okay. Uh... so when are you gonna leave?"

He risked a glance up and saw a blank face. "I really haven't thought that far ahead. I'll just go check flights and stuff and let you know soon." A hand reached out to grab his.

"Okay, baby. Let's go eat breakfast first." He was pulled inside and the scent of coffee lightened his spirits a little. He let a small smile cross his lips when he realized breakfast was made for him and ready on the table.

"Flight 252- Los Angeles International to DFW now ".

Mitch heard the loud announcement come through the speakers and turned to his boyfriend. "That's me." He grabbed his purse and his duffle bag and stood up.

"I love you, baby" Beau leaned in to press his lips against Mitch's in a sweet kiss and pulled back with a dreamy look in his eyes. "So, so much. Also, I have a surprise waiting for you when you get back on Thursday." He smiled mischievously.

"I really love you too. And I can't believe you! You're gonna make me wait this whole week without a hint as to what it is, aren't you?" Mitch raised an eyebrow and gave Beau a pointed look.

"Yep! It's a really good one. I hope-"

"Last Call for flight 252 Los Angeles International to DFW."

"Oh! Baby, I gotta go. I'm sure I'll love it, whatever it is." He leaned in for one last kiss and then waved goodbye as he boarded. Once he was seated, he put his headphones in and held his breath through the takeoff. Flying wasn't any easier even after all the flights PTX had, but now he didn't have a large hand to hold or a muscly shoulder to bury his face into. He forced himself to breathe deep and before he knew it, they were in the air. He was scheduled to get there around nine pm and meet his dad at the pick-up outside.

His parents were extremely excited to hear that he was coming down twice this year now since it was early December, and then again for a day or two over Christmas. They were even more excited to hear that this visit was gonna last 4 whole days. He felt bad he hadn't come home for longer, but recently his modeling career and Beau had kept him in LA. He felt nervous to go home since it had been almost a year. He hadn't decided if he was gonna go see Scott yet or not, but maybe his parents would know more about what is going on with him.

He zoned out listening to music and watching the clouds and when he blinked back to reality, people around him were standing up and grabbing their bags from the overhead compartments. The closer he walked to the pickup area, the more excited he became. He missed his dad dearly and was really ready for a hug. When he walked through the doors into the overly warm Texas December air, he heard his name.
