Before we go any further ,let's get something straight: Everybody makes mistakes. Nobody is perfect. We are all capable of doing something wrong.

There! It's out in the open.
I said this because i dont want to look at other people and think they have it all together and you don't.When you do that, you are putting impossibly high expectations on yourself.

This book is not about trying to live up to a certain standard. Its about letting God become your standards. It's not  about trying to be perfect. It's surrendering your life to God and letting him perfect you.Its not about finding ways to avoid God's judgement and then feeling like a failure if you dont do everything exactly right. It's about finding out how to experience God's Love and grace. It's not about trying to be somebody you are not. It's about becoming who you really are.But in order to see these things happen, you have to be completely honest with yourself and with God about who you are at the Moment.

As a Teenager you know that your life is just becoming. And you want to live a successful life. You want to know how life works best so you can live that way and have the best possible life. But since everybody makes mistakes, this means that you probably have already made mistakes and will make them again in the future.

Often when we do things wrong,we know that's what we're doing. We know if we've lied or disobeyed a law.But sometimes we make mistakes without knowing it.We didnt realized that we were doing was wrong in God's eye because we didnt know enough about God's ways.Whether or not we know that we're doing is Wrong,it is still sin.Sin is an old Archery term that means missing the mark.If we dont get things right on target in our lives,we miss the mark God has for us.And then we don't get to experience all the good things He has planned for our future.

Sin destroys us. We may think we can get away with not living God's way,but sin will always bring destruction into our lives. The good news is that God loves us soo much that he has given us a way out of destruction that comes because of our sins .It's called confession.

Confession is something you can do anytime you come to God. It's telling God what you have done and saying you're sorry. You're not telling Him something He doesn't know. He already knows! He wants to know that you know. And that you have a heart to change.

Having a change of heart is called repentance. In order to do those two things- confess and repent-you have to look at your life closely. You have to be brave enough to say " Lord show me what is in my heart and mind and life that shouldn't be there. Show me where i am missing the mark. Help me to see the truth abouth myself. Help me change"

It takes courage to pray a prayer like that.Sometimes we're afraid to let God expose our heart because of what He might reveal inside of it.But we can ask Him for the courage to do it. In order to receive all that God has0 for you,you have to be willing to clear the slate with him.You have to invite Him to expose any sin in your life and let him create a clean heart in you.

God doesnt want you walking around feeling guilty. He wants you to get sin out in the open before him so you can be free of it. Carrying around the guilt of past mistakes  will limit what God wants to do in your life. And it will make you feel bad about yourself. Guilt is not attractive. And it doesn't feel good.Dont let it be part of your life. Its not worth it. If you want to get free of the guilt of all past mistakes, then be willing to do these two things:

1) Confess to God any sins of thought or action that you know you have done or that He shows you when you ask him.

2)Repent of the things you have just confessed.

True Confession
Dont think just because you're not a serial killer or have never robbed a bank that you dont have any sin to confess.Dont think because you have walked with the Lord for a number of years and go to church every sunday that you have nothing for which you need to repent.Sin does'nt have to be glaring and obvious in order for it to be sin.
