Andrew opened the convertible door for Jenna, "you look stunning!" He exclaimed as she stepped elegantly out of the car.
"Where are we?" Jenna giggled staring at her surroundings.
He put his hand under her chin, forcing her to look up into his eyes, "think, Jenna."
The moment sent shivers down her spine. She was confused, but she knew her best friend was perfect.
He smirked at the confused look plastering her face, "think back four years. Four years ago; the senior 'goodbye dance.' Remember how Holley Jefferson ditched me to go with your date, Alexander Garfield? Remember how you went up to Holley and told her you'd shave her head and use the hair to make a voodoo doll? She despised you after that. Remember after the dance, we were starving, but I wasn't about to just take you out for burgers and some lame shit-"
"Oh yeah. You took me to that really fancy restaurant with the beautiful streaming lights, live entertainment, and the food- oh, the food was incredible." She interrupted, blushing at him.
"Ding ding ding, we have a winner," Andrew smiled.
"What do you mean?" Jenna scrunched an eyebrow.
It was nearly 5pm. The sun was staring to set. Andrew grabbed onto Jenna's shoulders and spun her around. She gasped in awe.
Beautiful white, blue, and pink twinkling lights dangled from the front of the hole-in-the-wall restaurant. They were round and so many of them draped the entrance of the beautiful eatery. A gazebo hung around the entire building with vinery laced through the entire thing.
"Oh...Andrew!" Jenna's smile was so wide, you could spot it a mile away, "it's beautiful. It's exactly the way I remember it senior year!"
Andrew stretched his arm around Jenna's shoulder, and smiled into her hair, "only the best for my beautiful best friend."
She placed her hands on his firm core and pushed him away, "shutup! We could just go get some In-N-Out," Jenna laughed, preparing herself to get back in the car, "you don't have to drop a huge bill on a lunch/dinner with me; it's really not that big of a deal." She clutched the handle and swung the door open.
Andrew slammed the car door closed, "Knock it off," Andrew commanded.
"No. You're not spending a fortune on me, and there's not a thing you can- AH!" Andrew picked Jenna up wedding style and carried her inside.
"Andrew put me down!" She yelped.
Andrew laughed as they entered the restaurant, "Reservations for two please." He beamed at the beautiful woman standing at her podium.
"Name please."
"Andrew."
"Oh, Mr. Manson, this way please." The woman grabbed two menus and led Andrew to their table. She walked so pristine, mighty, like she was proud of what she did.
"ANDREW! I'm not fucking kidding; put me down."
The two say down. They overlooked the menus, set them down, and began their conversation.
"This place is beautiful, I love it." Jenna beamed.
"You're beautiful."
"Stop it you," she blushed, using the menu to shield her bright pink cheeks.
"Oh Jenna Stealth, are you are blushing?"
She tried to sound stern, but her voice crackled with laughter, "of course not."
Andrew looked intently at Jenna. Their eyes locked. The moment was perfect. His hazel eyes were so cold and engulfed with such a painful story he called his life. Jenna and him had been best friends since eighth grade. They had spent almost every single day together since then. Every time Jenna looked into his eyes, she remembered the day they first hung out outside of school. She knew that day like the back of her hand.
