I guess Tama was right. I mean, how could I not have seen it? Maui had always been with me, unless he was doing something for the humans. Had that been a lie? All fake friends aside, it was nice to have a real friend I could talk to.

"So, are you doing okay, mentally?"

"I guess so. It's good to cry every once in a while." He smiled.

"Kahi, you know, you could stay here with me. I wouldn't mind." I nodded in reply. He then looked like he was deep in thought. "Hey, can I show you something?"

"Okay. What is it?"

"Just wait. You'll love it." He replied as he walked to one of the walls in his cave. He traced his claws on it to make a shape like a door.

"Woah, that's incredible."

"It gets better, just walk through." I was a little reluctant, because I had really just known him for a week, and now he's telling me to go through magic doors? I went through it anyway. It turns out the door was a portal that transported us to the surface. "Ah. Perfect timing." It was sunset, and I thought I knew what he wanted to show me. As the sun set, and the moon came out, the trees on the island started glowing blue. I thought it was beautiful, but then I looked at Tama, and he did the same thing. Then everything looked gorgeous. "This...is what I wanted to show you."

"It's amazing. Wait, I think--" I stopped. I knew I could shapeshift, maybe I could do that. Then, I transformed the lower half of my body to a fishtail, which glowed dark purple. "--There we go. I guess that happens to me too." I jumped into the ocean, before my tail dried up, and sighed. "Ah, I haven't had a swim in weeks."

"Yeah, that must be terrible. Course, it's nothing compared to over a thousand years, but okay." I jumped out and shifted back.

"You can't swim, can you? Oh wow, a water goddess not knowing that you were a robber crab who stops being able to swim after they mature, good job Kahi."

"You know, its fine. I actually barely swam as a child, or rather, a young crab. Lalotai is literally underwater, you realize." I nodded, understanding what he said. We both heard sudden thunder in the distance, which startled him, but I didn't even flinch.

"You're not scared, are you? We're fine, as long as the storm doesn't get too violent or too close to us-Oh gods. Sky goddesses just love messing with us water goddesses. Let's go back." He nodded in reply, more than ready to leave.

"In case you're still wondering, yes, I am kind of scared of storms. You know why." He said sarcastically. "When I was growing up, and even still today, I didn't go on the surface much. But there, with you, I felt...A lot better than I did the last time I went on the surface. So thank you, is what I'm trying to say here."

"No problem, Tama."
