New school

New life

New friends

Or not yet

The desire to be friends is there

But it is not returned back

A couple weeks pass

Laughing in class

Sitting with each other

Soon it is the case

The friendship is there

First unrequited,

Second returned

Still not friends with all

So the process is continued

But some, no common classes at all

The desire to be friends is still there

A week passes

The desire to be friends changes

Now, it is the desire to be more

To be loving towards each other

To have an endless supply of hugs

To speak to each other without a word to be spoken

Another week passes

The new desire has become the common one

Hidden eye glances towards one another

Never speaking a word

Soon a month has passed

Have friends galore

Some in common with the one desired

It becomes common to hold eye contact with one another

Next day

One syllable hi is said while walking past

Turning into how are you at lunch

Transforming into conversations about sports

But the one desired doesn't want to be more than friends

All the friends say so

So what they said is believed

Soon a year has passed

Time for end-of-year photos

The one desired stands next to you

Both laughing

Both having become best of friends

Still having the desire to love him

But using that desire to allow the friendship to prosper

The photo is taken

The one desired disappears

No notice taken of it though

The one desired walks up

Holding a red box of chocolates and a note

Note filled with loving emotions and important questions

The one desired becomes the one being loved

First unrequited,

Second returned
