Precious

Life

It may be precious

That doesn't give an excuse

To sit back idly

Just watching it walk by you

Your parents told you that you were

Precious when you were younger

In their own unique actions and phrases

But that didn't stop you

From going on a bicycle, falling down

Scraping your knees and elbows

Getting up and creating a cycle

Until you learned how to stay on

So if you could do it back then

Why can't you do it now?

Talk to new people at work or at school

Try new sports

Create new goals

You'll find yourself growing

Learning new skills as you go along

Soon life won't be walking past you

It'll be running behind you

Trying to catch up

Trying to drown you

With it's worries and fears

What about time?

What about the past?

What about the future?

Don't ask these questions

Don't let life make you ask these questions

Live in the moment

As precious as life may be,

It's not supposed to hold you back.

You can do anything you set your mind to.
