In life, there is always a hierarchy

Be it in colors

Be it in food

This is true for best friends as well

I have different levels

And maybe you disagree

But I feel it is the truth for me

Long ago, I had a friend

Say her name was Julia

My first year in the US is when I met her

She didn't mock my accent

Or the way I did things

She became my best friend

4 years later, we left for separate schools

We lost the connection

The everyday conversation

She became the best friend that went away

But still has a place in my memories

Next in rank

The best friend who is far

But still tries to reach you

Be it by seeing you on computer or in person

It doesn't matter how

They will take a plane to speak to you

But the best friends that are close

They always see you

You have memories being made every second

You have inside jokes laughed about over days

But they are not the top of the hierarchy

They are not the rulers of the other best friends

As for me,

It's my parents
