-Shayden's POV-

I walked down the crowded hallways, random strangers shoulders slamming into mine. I desperately stood on my toes to seek out my locker through the sea of faces. The sound of conversation buzzed in my ears as I squeezed my way through the crowds.
"Shay!!"
I spun around on my heel, only to be greeted by my friend, Olly.
"Cass and I were waiting at the caf for you." She said, looking down at me. I'm 5"0, she's 5"6. She patted my head lightly.
"Come on, let's go get subway." She started walking through the crowd, signalling me to join her.
I followed her to the cafeteria, where my other friend Cass was standing in line at subway, one person ordering in front of her.
We sat down at an empty table and I took out some homework I hadn't done the night before. Algebra. Ew.
I saw Cass walking toward us, three subway bags in her hands.
"Ham and cheese with mayo,"she placed Olly's sandwich down. "Turkey and lettuce with cucumbers." She placed down mine. "Last but not least, a grilled panini for me." She sat down and started eating.

I threw my wrapper in the garbage and said bye to Olly. Cass and I have biology now, and Olly has English.
When we walked into the classroom, the first thing I saw was Devina Joseph and Jake Melium.
Ugh.
Devina is a cliche girl with blonde hair and green eyes. She bullied me back in 7th grade, and still gives me dirty looks.
Jake is Devina's... ahem.... 8th boyfriend. He's just an idiot and always calls me short stack.
Devina glared at me as I placed my bag beside my chair and sat down. I decided to read a little bit while I waited for the teacher to come in. Cass was talking to the girl next to her, and the rest of the class was preoccupied.
"Sorry I'm late, let's get to it."

I walked out of the school and hopped on my forest green bike. My house was a few blocks away. My mom didn't let me walk, and my dad thinks the high school bus kids are druggies, so I bike. I was around the corner when I noticed the sky was turning a bit dark. Eh, it'll probably rain later. My brown curly hair flew back because of a sudden wind gust. I let my thoughts overcome me as I rode home.

I walked into my house where my dad was watching soccer, my mom was doing a puzzle at the dining table, and my little sister Charlie was carrying around my cat, William, like a baby.
"Char, leave William alone!"
"She's mine, and her name is FlufferNutter!" She stick her tongue out at me.
"Mom!!"
She turned around and lowered her glasses. "Charlie..."

Charlie dropped him and stormed off. Willam walked over to me and rubbed up against me and purred to be pet.
I patted his head and went to the office to do my homework.
I was in the middle of doing a history assignment when all of a sudden, my phone pinged. I looked at the screen.

Olly had sent me a screenshot of a news headline, where the mayor stated that all LGBT supporters are lying about helping the LGBT community, and the LGBT should burn in hell.

Olly: ummmm
Me: THIS FRICKIN
Cass: Ok calm yourself
Me: BUT IT ISNT RIGHT
Olly: Cass, she's ace. Of course she's mad
Me: ABDHKDIDISMSKLSLSOSI
Cass: Olly, I blame you for this
Olly: oops

I slammed my phone to my chest. Ow. My cheeks were turning red. How could they say that? Tears sprang to my eyes. I had to fix it. But how....?

"SHAY!!!! DINNER!!!!"
