I opened my eyes.
My room was dark, aside from my glowing red alarm clock.
10:09.
Hm, I must have taken a nap. I switched on my lamp and sat up. William was gone, probably to my parent's room.
My phone lit up and pinged.
I picked it up off of my bedside table and checked what it was.

Olly: dude
Olly: dude
Olly: dude
Olly: dude
Me: holy ice cubes what
Cass: whattttt
Olly: *1 image attached*

It was a screenshot of another news headline.
Holy.
Schnitzel.
Extremely well written letter sent to city hall; has city officials in awe

A letter was mailed to city hall yesterday, which was in response to Wednesday's headline about the LGBT+ community, written by 15 year old Shayden C. We have since taken down the headline, but city officials were awestruck in the letter writer's impeccable writing abilities.

Olly: told you
Me: well shit
Cass: OMGOMGOMG

I closed my phone and stared at the ceiling, dotted with glow in the dark stars.

Oh my god.

I walked out into the living room, Good Morning America being abandoned on the TV. My dad must have left early for work. My mother was drying her hair in the bathroom, and Charlie was eating Lucky Charms at the table.
I popped some white bread in the toaster, and got out the butter, a knife, and a plate.
"I had a dream about Cars 2 last night." My sister started blabbing on and on about her trip to Canada with Finn McMissile.
My toast popped, and I spread some butter on and let it melt while I got myself some water.

I ate quickly, grabbed my book bag and sweatshirt, and headed out the door.

•at school•

Some people stared at me while I walked to homeroom. That's.. peculiar. No one ever looks at me. Except for Olly and Cass.
I sat down and took out my notebook. I had the sudden urge to write. I started to write down some P!ATD lyrics.

The lace in your dress
Tangled my neck
How do I live
With the death of a bachelor

I added in a tiny doodle of a dress and continued writing. I heard someone whisper my name, so I perked up. Two girls I didn't really know, Ida and Mindy, were talking about me, and how I was in the paper.
Oh my god, Olly was right.
I was suddenly blushing, knowing that people knew my name and were talking about my success.
My home room teacher walked in, and I payed attention to here roll call.

After second period, I went over to Olly's locker, since I haven't seen her all day. She was leaning against it eating apple chips. She stood up straight when she saw me.
"Hey," she swallowed. "I told you."
I cocked my head, and she took out her phone and showed me a class wide group chat.

Halle: u know that girl Shay
Devon: I guess
Jacobi: ya she's aight
Halle: she was in the news today
Bella: heckin what
Olivia: Aye yo she's my friend
Kofi: Ya, she's in my biology, she's neat.
Jacobi: why was she in the news
Halle: she wrote a letter to the mayor becuz she didn't like how he said anti-lgbt stuff or something
Bella: oh yeah
Devon: remember when devina freaked on her yesterday

She put her phone in her pocket. These people.. I didn't even recognize their names!

Maybe I was "famous".
