The music blared through my headphones as I ran.
I've been a liar, been a thief.
I didn't know quite where I was running to.
Been a lover, been a cheat.
I started to feel slight drops on my head.
All my sins need holy water, feel it washing over me.
I put up my hood and slowed down.
Don't want to admit to something, if all it's gonna cause is pain.
I shivered. I underestimated how cold Texan rainfalls can be.
Truth in my lies, now I'm falling like the rain.
I finally stopped walking all together.
So let the river run.

I sat under a pavilion, and watched the rain fall around me. I had found my way to a local park, which was deserted. My hoodie lay across my shoulders, in attempt to make a blanket.
I set the back of my head on the picnic table I was sitting at and looked up at the wooded ceiling.

Suddenly, I was asleep.

"Oh my god, Shay?!"
I woke with a start. I jolted up. In the distance, I saw two figures running toward me.
Oh, no.
"Mom?"
They stopped and looked at each other.
"No, It's Olly and Cass!"
They ran to my table and Olly pretty much tackled me.
Cass held back.
"OHMYGODSHAYWHATTHEHELLWEREYOUTHINKING??!?!"
Olly held my shoulders and looked at my face.
My hair was drenched and stuck to my forehead, there was some dry blood and dirt from the fight earlier, and there were tears streaming down my cheeks.
Olly softened and wrapped arms around me.
"Hey... ssh.... it's okay now... you're okay... breathe..."
She brushed some hair from my face and went to my backpack.
"Do you have any bandaids, rubbing alchohol, and or cotton swabs?"
I squeezed my eyes shut as I tried to think back to earlier. I didn't even know what time it was. I remembered I always kept a travel medical kit in the front pocket of my backpack.
"Yeah. Front pocket," I said, pointing my finger to the front pocket.
While Olly hummed '1-800' by Logic and scavenged my bag, I glanced at Cass.
It seemed as though she was gradually inching away from me...
"Cass?"
She jumped. I caught her off guard.
"Yes..?"
"Do you hate me?"
Olly stopped what she was doing, to turn around to look at us. Cass blushed and looked away. "Well... I don't hate you.... but... um.... my mom says you guys end up just mooching money off of me, Olly because she's an artist, and Shay because she's.." she nodded to the ace pride ring around my finger. "My Mom also said she doesn't want a bunch of queers hanging around me..."
Olly walked up to her.
"And you believe her."
Cass slowly nodded.
Olly put her hands on Cass' shoulders and pushed, but she didn't fall back. Olly's strong, but not that strong.
"I knew it."
Cassandra just stood there staring at Olly.
Olly turned around.
"Go."
"Ol-"
"GO."
Cass ran back to her bike.
Olly simply stood there, eyes wide.
She shook her head and didn't say a word as she continued cleaning me up.
