It's been a week since I've been living with Olly.
I signed up for an online school, and Olly did too. It's called Eastern Grey Online High School.
Jared left yesterday. The uncle and cousins did too.
I checked my phone.
36 missed calls from Mom
28 missed calls from Dad
I sighed. I went into my contacts and blocked them both.
I swiped up and pressed play on my music.
Even when the dark comes crashing through,
I check the time. 4:09 am.
When you need a friend to carry you,
I start looking through my camera roll.
When you're broken on the ground,
I find a picture of Charlie, William and I, sitting on my bed.
You will be found.
A stray tear rolls down my cheek.
I wipe it quickly as I turn over, towards the door.
"AH! What the frick?!" I yell at Olly, who was standing in the doorway.
She put her finger to her lips and motioned for me to follow her. I paused my song, and set my phone down. I got and followed her.
We went out the side door, and she led me to a ladder along the back of the house.
"Well?" She said.
I cocked my head in confusion.
She sighed and climbed the ladder.
I followed behind her. When I got to the top, she was sitting on the highest point of the roof. She had her back to me, so when I popped my head up, she looked back. She patted the spot next to her. I slowly climbed up across the shingles and sat next to her.

Wow.

It was still dark out, since it was literally 4 am.
The stars stretched across the sky. The sky looked like a shiny black table that had been sprinkled with sugar. It was beautiful.
I'm pulled out of my trance by Olly's voice.
"Do you miss them?"
I look at her, unsure of what to say.
"It's okay, you know."
She wasn't looking at me. She was looking at the sky.
"Sometimes I miss Charlie. I miss William all the time." I finally answered.
She looked at me and weakly smiled. She took my hand and held it up.
"It's okay. I'm sure you'll see each other soon. In fact, once it's a reasonable hour, I bet Greg will drive us to pick up William. We should call Child Services for Charlie, as well."
I smiled and scooted closet to her. She wrapped her arm around my shoulder and I laid my head on her shoulder. She laid her head on mine.

We stayed up on the roof for hours, or at least until the sun came up.
