Okay, this is a new rule specifically for fanfiction (also for everyone else because I don't reward plagiarism). Plagiarism is the practice of taking someone else's work and using it as your own (like if I didn't say that I got this definition from Google). I've noticed that in a lot of other awards, fanfictions that are practically rewrites of their source material have been winning. I will not do this. If I run your story through a plagiarism detector, and you get dinged, I am going to disqualify you. I am not going to bother reading your story if you used someone else's work and passed it off as your own. This may sound harsh, but plagiarism is a crime. Even if you change pronouns or character names, that is still plagiarism because you are using their words and you will be disqualified.
