Okay guys, Fanfiction is officially closed! Short Story/Poem and Fantasy are both half-full! Judging starts on Thursday, December 21. I just want all of you to remember, that regardless of how well you do in this contest, just by publishing something on Wattpad, and taking the time to enter it in this contest, says a lot about you as a writer. Just because you don't necessarily get a high score, or make it into the finals, it doesn't make you a bad writer and it most certainly doesn't mean you should stop writing, if anything, the feedback I give you should help you write more and write better. Even if you don't win for your genre, stick around and don't accidentally disqualify yourself, because there are still the smaller awards for highest scores in each part of the scoring rubric. This is for those people who maybe their grammar isn't the best, but the story itself was pretty good, or the cover was spectacular, so don't lose hope, stick around, and remember this is all just good fun!
Also, I just wanted to explain something to you. The reason Chick-Lit, Teen Fiction, Romance, LGBTQ+, and Humor were not included in this contest is because I don't consider them genres. If the only draw for a book is that it has LGBTQ+ characters or is romantic, then I don't consider it a book even, it's just a romance. Chick-Lit isn't a genre, it's just a way of writing, and Teen Fiction just means it's meant for teenagers. Humor could be a series of jokes or a book with a funny story, but those are short story and realistic fiction respectively. Basically, those four things aren't genres and that's why I didn't have them as a genre but accepted books that were officially marked as such.
Good luck to all my entries,
May the best book win,
Eliot Everdeen
