Yes, I know I'm a horrible person. I've procrastinated doing anything to do with this awards for a very long time and I'm super sorry. I promise fanfiction people, I will be done soon and you will be rewarded for the extra long wait. I'll be announcing the results for rounds two through four, which will hopefully make up for how long you've been waiting. So far, it seems that a few of the lowest scoring entries in the first round have redeemed themselves and have a decent chance at winning. Someone almost got a perfect score, and I'll be very excited to release the results.
On another note, other genres are starting to fill up nicely. Short Story/Poem only needs six more entries. Fantasy needs seven more entries, and realistic fiction just needs eight more. I'll try to wrap up fanfiction's judging quickly so that I can move on to the other genres as they fill up. This first round of judging was super slow because it was sort of my test run, I'm sorry fanfiction entries, you were my lab rats. I wanted to see how I had to judge, and how judging would work, so I ended up taking way too long.
I promise that other genres will not have the long wait that fanfiction has had, I promise that the long wait is almost over. One thing I do want to mention to all of you is that I really don't appreciate it if you get mad at me for cutting you. My cutting you is solely based on the story and has nothing to do with you as a person. I am doing my best to judge this competition fairly and without thinking too much about whose book I'm reading. I don't care if you're ten or ninety, a teacher or a student, I'll judge your stories the same way and maybe the students will win and the teachers won't, but I don't want you to angrily message me about it.
Thank you,
Sorry again for the wait,
May the best book win,
Eliot Everdeen
P.S. I'm almost at 3k reads, thank you so much! This is officially my most popular work, obviously, but thank you!
