"She's pregnant. Times almost up."

"I know."

"She has to do it herself. She can't let it happen like that, it'll ruin everything."

"I know."

"I can't keep living like this."

"I know."

"She has to do it. Now–"

"For fucks sake, Lucian, I know. Could you shut the fuck up already."

"I'm just getting worried. There isn't much time and we're in pain. How are we going to get her to do it? It needs to happen soon or we won't have another opportunity till the ultimum tempus de altera vita."

Altera Vita

Camila's POV

I jumped awake at the sudden violent movement from the left side of the bed. Immediately I attached my eyes to Y/n's breathless figure sitting upright, starring fearfully into the duvet on her thighs.

I turned on the bedside lamp and there were tears trailing down her face. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion and worry at the view of my frightened fiancé.

"Are you okay?" I asked panicked, scooting closer to place a gentle hand on her back.

After about minute of silence and non-stop heavy panting, I began to worry. She shook her head and my heart rate sped up. I shifted and subconsciously prepared for any quick movement if needed, scenarios already playing in my head.

"Yes. Just another nightmare..." she trailed off, her voice shaking slightly as she obviously attempted to control her breathing. "I think. I don't know I can't remember." I wiped the tears from her face and nodded.

She seemed lost as her eyes went blank. Again, in a desperate attempt to soothe the pregnant woman, I grabbed her left hand and kissed her ring.

She blinked back into reality and sent me a weak smile which did nothing to subdue my nerves.

In under another two minutes her breathing was finally regulated and the muscles under my hand relaxed.

"I felt really hot a second ago. Like sweaty hot. Was it just me?" She asked, turning her neck to look at me under the illumination of her bedside lamp.

I furrowed my eyebrows, not remembering any abnormal heat. I pressed the back of my hand to her forehead and her skin seemed to be moist which was odd considering I was sure I turned the AC on before bed.

"You're a little warm, love. Are you sure you're okay?" I asked concerned for the health and well-being of my pregnant fiancé.

"I think so. I don't know—that was weird." She shook her head apparently frustrated.

"Do you need anything?"

"No." She looked at the clock, 3:11 AM. "Let's go back to sleep."

I nodded and reached over to shut the lamp off. As my back hit the bed, the small Australian cuddled into me immediately, her right hand on my stomach rubbing lightly.

I rubbed her shoulder, cuddling closer when she pushed her face closer to my neck. Innocent pecks were placed every now and then triggering a deep relaxation to fall over my muscles. I was content, a sense of accomplishment making me smile as I took credit for talking my fiancé down, although I truly didn't do much. She felt better and I was here for it.

She clearly felt better than a minute ago as her previous kisses turned from innocent to feverous.

I held my breath and my thoughts were confirmed when her hand slipped under my shirt and her sharp teeth nipped at the underside of my jaw.
