The Love and Secrets in a Dragon's Heart (Fairy Tail Fanfic book 1) *slow update

Chapter - 9

I have no beginning word, so lets get right into it... Finally see whats going on with Gray =)

 

Gray:

I am racing across the snow covered ground, slipping and sliding as I go. ‘I have to find this thing before it wakes up, or I might not be able to stop it safely.’ I think to myself. I remember them saying that a wizard named Rufus was here, Rufus from Sabertooth. He answered the emergency request but never made it back. ‘I hope I will find him along the way, injured not dead.’

I look up at the sky, the sun is getting closer and closer to the horizon. I need to hurry up and find this thing. “Everyone get into your homes!” I cry out to the masses. “I am Gray Fullbuster from the Fairy Tail Guild. I am here to stop the demon but you all have to return to your homes immediately!” this will make it easier for me to find it. Everyone cooperates and clears the streets.

As I get nearer to the west side of town I see even more destruction then the other side of Brawgou. And yet something strikes me as odd. It’s the pattern of wreckage. It doesn’t even look like this ‘demon’ is trying to bring the buildings down but is instead just breaking windows and putting holes in the walls. But that doesn’t make any sense!

How can a demon, whose sole purpose is to destroy, possible be so bad at it? There might be something more going on here. Or I am reading too much into it?

Nevertheless I continue running toward where the destruction in getting more severe. Pretty soon it starts to look like it did when Deliora decimated it almost 20 years ago. Buildings are completely on the ground, there is the smell of blood and ash hanging in the air, and there are the remains of dead bodies scattered here and there. It is a repulsive sigh, but I have to bear with it. I have a quest to complete!

Finally I reach the chaos’ epicenter. On the ground 20 meters to my right I see Rufus, he is down but not out I can still see him breathing. And on the ground 20 meters in front of me, is the sleeping demon. It is in a humanoid form, a female human. Its hair is so white it is almost transparent, its skin is ghostly pale, it has scaly wings that are folded behind its back, and its fingers come to a pointed claw. And the finally addition that brings it all home, it is covered from head to toe with ugly, rough, textured… dragon scales?... ‘Are-are those Dragon Scales?’

“What the heck?!” I shout absentmindedly. The creatures eyes dart open, set ablaze with brilliant light. The wind all around us slowly picks up speed until it becomes a raging blizzard! Snow, ice, sleet, and rain all whip around in the violent cyclone like storm that surrounds this thing!

It pushes it hands against the ground and staggers to its knees. Its claws sink into the permafrost and then refreeze into resized claws over the creatures hands. Letting out a blood curdling scream the creature stands on its own two feet.

This thing… this monster… the only thing I can see is deliora! The horrible screaming, the violent destruction, and the death that surrounds it. ‘No, im too close, I have to get away!’ I tell myself.

‘Come on, are you really gonna give up without trying?’ I hear Natsu’s voice echoing.

“Shut up you Squinty eyed… huh?” I turn and see nothing. Just the swirling elements and Rufus still unconscious. ‘You need to show this guy what your made of, not just for you, or the exam.’ I hear again. I smile softly as I realize that I am hearing this all in my head.

‘But…’ “For All of Fairy Tail!” I cry out in determination. Though every muscle in my body screams for me to turn and run, I face the demon, and charge straight at it.
