Chapter 19:You Need to Understand

Jayden POV

Sunday 15th of June-10.30am

I am still sitting in the chair next to Charlotte's bed,only left every now and then she tired to get me to leave,go home to Gracie but I declined,knowing I had to be here I still don't know why I get the same feeling I get when I see her,or am around her I was the one who pushed her away so I didn't hurt her anymore but here I am sitting next to the girl I love,always have and yet I don't know why is it so hard to say that out loud I used to all the time.

I feel someone staring at me,I realize it is Charlotte."you still here,I thought you would have left last night after I went to sleep"she ask.

"well I put you in here to begin with if it wasn't for me you wouldn't be here in the hospital I mean."I say.

"please tell me what happened"she ask,I sigh,remembering the doctors words 'Make sure you tell her soon' and 'you where there so you have to do it,sober'

"okay,but you have to pay attention okay"I say she nods.

"It was year 2009,as you know we have been best friends since I could remember,It was the 9th of April,my birthday,we both new we loved each other,our parents new,everyone new,and everyone thought we would be perfect with each other,we new everything about each other,so on my birthday at our park we were finally decide to be together,it was awesome even your dad was happy,I was 16,with the girl I love it was perfect."I look up at her and she was smiling"Anyway after a mouth or two we decide to take our relationship at bit further,I know you think you lost your V-card while you were drunk but you didn't,you lost it three years before that,I am so glad you had your first kiss before 2009,you know when I tricked you into kissing me."I say looking back up to see a lost tear rolling down her face.

"I am going to skip ahead,now"I say and she nods"Everything was going smoothly,it was the 13th of August,your birthday,Yay Charlotte's 16,you were happy,we thorough a party for you,that smile I will never forget,a few days before your birthday I asked you what you wanted,you said you wanted to do something fun and adventures,so I came up with a great Idea."I swallow looking up for a quick second to see she still has tears in her eyes"I told you I had a surprise for you,I new how much you hated them,so I found it funny.I took you to the Cliff where the boys meaning Our dads,Caiden and Cory,oh and me used to go swimming we would dive of the top and land in the water,that was when we little,our mums wouldn't let the girls,so you where stuck home.I should have known the water level would of went down,but I didn't so I took you there to jump off as well,I was letting you go first,but you said that you didn't want to jump."I look back down feeling the tears in my eyes"I said we could jump together,I held out my hand and everything,you finally accepted,on three I said,I counted and everything,but you jumped and I let go of your hand Charlie I let go,I know I shouldn't of but I have done it before you handn't."I pause trying to stop the tears.

"I was watching you fall,I heard you scream but than I head a loud bang on the bottom,I didn't know what it was,but I left it,until I saw the blood,all the blood everywhere,I ran down the mountain and pulled you out,I was scared you died,once you where out I called an ambulance.They took you here where Dr.Brendan looked after you for the whole time you where here,it turned out you hit the bottom,there where rocks there and you hit your head,you hurt yourself pretty bad,I saw you and I was so scared I was going to lose you.When you woke up you didn't remember anything that had happened you remember me as your best friend Charlie I was your boyfriend but in your mind I was your best friend and I hated that,but worst of all it was my fault."

"once you recovered you got monthly check up where they found out you where not going to remember,with I hated.I didn't want to hurt you anymore so I pushed you away I know you hated me for that,but than you kept trying to talk to me,because you didn't understand,you were so confused as to why I pushed you away,so I came up with a way to get the point across,I told everyone lies and they put these papers in your locker so you could feel bad about your self,than I photo shopped a photo of a naked body with your head on it and people thought it was you,everyone was laughing at you but,you stayed away for awhile,because you didn't know it was me.I stopped doing things,until you came and talked to me about Caiden,meaning you still trusted me which is what I didn't want so I told Mandy,and she told the whole school,I am so sorry I didn't realize it would nearly split up your whole family,I didn't realize it was that big of a deal,I heard your mum went to drinking and wouldn't talk to you and your dad only started talking to you at the start of year 12,I didn't know if it was true but if it was I am sorry."I swallow again"I didn't mean to get you pregnant,and you weren't on my list but what else was I going to say,you need to understand I didn't mean for  any of this to happen,but it did and I can't change that,for the record when I accidentally got you pregnant I thought I was safe,but that didn't end well,and I am sorry for even going up to you I pushed you away,but I wanted to be with you so bad so I did,and than you left and that hurt me pretty bad,I was kind-of scared to find out you where back,and here we are now,sitting in the hospital because you remember all the pain I put you through,and I hate myself for that,so I am sorry Charlotte Rose Lewis,I am sorry and you can hate me as much as you like,but I love our daughter and I love you".

 "Why did it take so long to tell me"She ask

"because doctors orders,we were not aloud to tell you,you had to remember which everyone thought was impossible"

"When I was coming home,I had this feeling like I loved you,but I didn't know where any of the feelings came from,and now you tell me this all I feel like doing is crying,but I understand I really do,but I can't believe you made me jump of that cliff on my own."she cries

"I know and I am sorry,I don't know what else to say"I say

"nothing you don't need to say anything else I heard it all,and you said sorry more than enough,but one thing I know is that I want to get out of here"she say and begins to stand up.

"wait what are you doing"I ask

"um going home"she says walking to the end of the bed,I watch her but than I see something I couldn't believe,I see the one person I thought I would never see again,standing at the door.I watch as Charlotte looks up,

"CHARLIE"I scream and watch as she falls to the ground.I run to her side,that's when all the doctors come running in.
