Chapter Eleven

Throughout the week, Laura had a few conversations with Jamie Revenour.

First, when there was no one in the halls but them and a few people, she ran and bumped into him, on purpose.

"Omigod" she fell on the floor.

"I'm so sorry" Jamie helped her up.

"It's okay" Laura smiled at him.

"My oh my, you are so pretty."

"Thank you" Laura took hair out of her face.

"Uh, I'm Jamie" he held his hand out.

"I know who you are" Laura shook his hand "the hottest guy in town." Laura chuckled "ha ha, you're the mayor's son."

Jamie nodded "yeah, I just wish that people wouldn't just call that, I mean, I want to be known as a normal person."

Laura nodded "I understand."

"Thank you" Jamie smiled at her "you look vaguely familiar."

"I do?"

"Yeah, I could've sworn I've seen you before."

"Well, I'm an Amber so you probably know my family."

"Oh that's right, you're family owns Gossip magazine."

"Yeah, I'm Laura Amber. The eldest of the family."

"There's more" Jamie asked then he smiled "I'm just kidding, I know you have a little brother."

"A little baby brother" Laura smiled.

Jamie smiled back "how old are you?"

"Sixteen."

"Cool, so you're also in the junior year too right?"

"Correct

"Me too."

"I know" Laura smiled "I stalk you with magazines."

"Ha ha" Jamie laughed a little bit "do you join any sports?"

"I'm a cheerleader."

"Cool."

"Yeah, what about you, Jamie?"

"I usually play basketball, soccer, football or tennis and baseball."

"Wow, that is too many sports right there."

Jamie laughed "I have to keep myself busy."

"Hmm."

The bell rang.

Laura smiled at her new friend "catch you later."

On Friday, Mary sat on her porch step and played with Baby Luke.

"Here" Mary gave the ball to Baby Luke.

He smiled and played with it.

Mary looked around the neighborhood then she saw Hank holding hands with another girl.

She gulped and continued to play with Baby Luke.
