"Is there anything wrong? Shall I come later??" A confused voice came from the doorway.
Nitara turned back. It was Adit standing behind her, scrutinizing the two of them with keen eyes. She felt embarassed. Running out of the room seemed to be the best way available. However there existed a word in her dictionary named 'courtesy' and her mind was bound to follow it.
"Excuse me." She murmured with her wobbling lips and walked past Adit as fast her legs could carry.
Yet she couldn't leave the room. Adit had stopped her midway.
"MASALA CHAE!" He jumped excitedly as he noticed the cup in Dev's hands. He then turned towards Nitara and asked- "Nitzy, where is my cup huh?"
Nitara sighed. Adit was indeed an headache for her. Was Dev any less that now she had to tolerate this monkey too?!!
Okay. Calm down Nitara. She whispered to herself and bestowed him with a saccharine sweet smile.
"First of all, I am Nitara. No Nita, Nitu, Niti, Nitzy allowed..... and secondly, I have'nt made tea for you! So you can leave now." She said and pointed towards the door.Adit happily ignored her though. He settled himself comfortably upon Dev's bed and asked-
"And why is it so? Why isn't there tea for me??" He didn't forget to add an irritating smile along with his questions."Becoz I can let all the tea go wasted everyday. The day when I actually make extra tea for you, you don't turn up only. You... you never inform me before landing up here. Your time is never fixed. And you still expect me to make tea for you! Such expectations you have!!" She puked all her anger upon Adit, who just stared blankly at her for two good seconds, trying to interpret her point.
When he couldn't do this job, he began with the next level of interrogation.
"But now I'm here na! So why aren't you going to the kitchen?...Make some nice tea 'Nitara' becoz I'm there not to let it go 'wasted'... I promise." He pimched the skin of his neck and vouched. His emphasization of the words 'Nitara' and 'wasted', didn't go unnoticed from her. Her face flushed up instantly. She gripped her stole in a fist and tried to calm herself. But all in vain. It was finally the time when the volcano had to errupt.
"You and your friend, you people think I'm your Ramukaka? No, sorry.. Ramdulali! ...Yes, you people think that I am your ramdulali and that I am always at your service, ready to make tea whenever your caffeine sick blood rushes in your veins? If you really think so then I must say you are highly mistaken! Becoz from now onwards, I am not going to make tea for you anymore. Is it clear?" She threated in her sharpest tone.
Dev just stared at her with puppy eyes while Adit shook his head like a dull kid who never understands a simple mathematical problem!
"Its not clear. I mean, I am your friend right. Then why won't you make tea for me? How can you even do this Nitzy??" He chirped innocently.
"My foot!" Is the answer he got in reply before Nitara stormed out of the room.
Adit smiled for a while at his Ms. Silly, before he turned towards Dev and turned serious all of a sudden.
Dev was already looking at him. He was enjoying this bickering infact. A tiny smile was pasted at one corner of his lips.
-"Why do you irritate her so much Adit?" He asked in a amused tone."Still better. I just irritate her, and not hurt her unlike you!" Adit snapped harshly.
Dev gasped. He wasn't excepting this reply for sure. Becoz it was way too straight forward and held a bitter amount of truth. His heart skipped few beats as Adit's words kept echoing inside his ears. He shrieked. The paint brush fell from his hands.
