5 months of pregnancy:
-"What is she doing over here?" Dev enquired irritably, as soon as he was back from hospital.
"Excuse me?" Raima was flabbergasted.
And together, they decided to look at me as if I was the inborn referee of their battle!
"Take it easy guys." I suggested nervously, inspite of knowing well that nothing was gonna be 'easy' when these two fighting species faced each other.
-"Ask her to go away then." Dev retorted almost immediately.
"NO WAYS." Raima shouted, stepping infront.
-"Excuse me, this is my house and I don't want ANY disturbance here... Is it clear?"
"You mean to say I am a 'disturbance'??" Raima's mouth was left opened into a wide 'O'.
-"Ofcourse." Dev sniffed. "Whenever you come to meet Tara and discuss about work, you always leave her so stressed that it literally takes me ages to get her normal!"
Well, he was right here. Since the day I left Saiyaraan, (not techniqually though, I was working from home upon special request. All thanks to Dev!) I realised the actual workload. Working in a environment that didn't belong to my office, was something really awkward and uncomfortable and it just increased my stress levels, so that whenever Raima came to meet me to introduce new issues, my mind was shot hyper and its after-effects were later faced by my poor husband!
"You hypocrite! Now that you are married to Tara and everything has been settled, you are trying to chuck ME out your lives?!!" Raima scowled. My reverie broke simultaneously.
-"I won't have done so....if you weren't such a nuisance!!" Dev greeted with a huge fake smile.
"You..."
"Stop it guys. Please." I spoke in the middle, that too quite louder than usual. The two madmen stopped after that.
"He is calling me disturbance, nuisance and what not..did you see that haan?" Raima cribbed soon.
-"Tell me if the accusations are fake." Dev countered.
"Dev...stop." I signalled him to shut his mouth by putting a finger on my lips.
-"But Tara.."
"No ifs and buts.. specially when you yourself are responsible for everything!"
-"Me?" It was now his turn to get surprised.
"Yes, you... I had said right that I can go to office like every other pregnant, working women?.. But you dint listen. You remained stubborn of not letting this out of this house and now if Raima is creating troubles, you must not complain okay?"
"You also think I am the trouble-maker?" Raima poked inbetween.
"No. But yes.... I mean.. yes, but not completely." I fumbled with the words hopelessly.
How I wanted to not hurt the poor thing!"What? What did to try to say??" Raima was hell confused. I sighed, sqeezing my eyes.
-"You don't need to know so much." Dev was always ready with his expertise comment.
"Shut up." Raima spat at him. She then turned towards me and said- "Nitara, I think you go for some yoga or meditational activities. You actually seem stressed you know!"
Shit. Yoga and meditation!!!
These two words took me to a one month old date. It was when I had decided to take some kinds of physical activities to keep myself fit, and to which Dev had also agreed...quite suprisingly.
Little did I know what additional surprises were yet waiting for me on the way!!!Surprise? Well, it came as a shock to me when I found Dev accompanying me to my yoga class. Seemed normal? Maybe, but trust me, it wasn't so. Becoz Dev had decided to enroll himself too along with me!
I received the second shock when I stepped into the class. It was a small room, stuffed with somewhat ten or eleven women, pregnant with different ongoing months. They were all young and mostly alone. Atleast their husbands were not present with them. Hence, I was the only sample in the whole room who was literally being baby-sitted by her man!
And there Dev was another adamant idiot. I told him to stay outside the class but he didn't listen. I even tried to give examples of the other women present there, but he just chucked away the matter saying- 'If those morons didn't bother to be with their wives at such a crucial phase, doesn't mean I'll do the same!'
The class started soon with my awkwardness, amused giggles of my co-learners and the deathly glares of my instructor. However, Dev was least bothered. Infact he was elated to do the steps, more than everyone else.
The actual problem arose thereafter. He found a step difficult and suggested the trainer that she shouldn't teach that step becoz it might get harmful for me. The middle aged female trainer was fuming by then. Yet she calmly said that it was her work and she had been doing that since ages. So he should better not disturb her. But then Dev also remained stuck to his point that she was teaching everyone the wrong lesson. As a result, our class became a mini war zone and both of us were soon thrown out from there.Thats how my yoga class ended before it was even started!
Memories flushed our minds. I looked at Dev. He looked back at me. We shared an all-knowing glance then. I gulped and nodded to myself. Yoga classes were not meant for me afterall!
"Lets not talk about it Raima!" I mumbled with a sigh and dispersed the topic.
One small wish~
Someone should write and publish a book someday, named as- HUNDRED & ONE WAYS OF HANDLING A CRAZY HUSBAND!!!____
