Nitara:
"You said we can go to that room once the workers leave." I reminded Dev. He tilted his head and replied shortly.
-"Yes."
"So when are we going? They have already left long ago!!"
-"Finish your dinner first and then we'll go."
"But I am not hungry!" I complained looking at the untouched chappaties on my platter.
-"No more tantrums Tara, just have it quick." Dev scoffed and I made another gruesome face before digging myself into the boring food again.
Dinner was done in peace.
We went to Dev's room after that. He said he had something important to show, and didn't say a more word more until he handed me a rectangular box, neatly wrapped in a shimmery blue paper.
-"Open it." He instructed then.
There was a subtle excitement in his eyes, some of which contagiously affected me as well. I pressed my lower lip under the upper one to hide a sly smile and hurried to undo the wrapper. Once it was done, I removed the lid of the box and discovered something really adorable inside.
Apparently, it was a peach pink full length maxi dress, made with a fabric that was butter-soft to touch and feather-light to feel. It had a floral patterend lace work embossed at its upper part while the lower part was simple and flowy. The neckline was little deeper than necessary, adding an appeal to the dress which wasn't 'vulgar' at all. Altogether, the dress was simple, stylish and elegant.....something that totally paired up with my taste, making all the happy hormones pop out of my sulking self.
"Its beautiful Dev!!...where did you get it from?" I asked, almost jumping on his feet.
-"You like it?"
"Ofcourse!" I rolled my eyes. He must not be kidding, I thought.
-"Your bff,Raima...she designed this for you.. BUT, upon MY request!!" He smirked proudly.
"Haww! Raima made this!!" My jaws dropped to the floor. And Dev did the favours of fixing them back together over a sarcastic chuckle.
-"So now please go and change." He spoke later, with a tinge of seriousness in his voice.
"Now?!!" I retorted back.
-"Yeah... we are going to 'Our' room, remembered?"
"Why do I need changing for that?"
-"Brides come from other houses, heavily dressed up in their wedding attires. Now that both of us are from the same house, and that the wedding was done in such a haphazard way...we can atleast dressup minimally before we head for the most important night of our lives?"
