Dev:
A bunch of drunk, intoxicated teenagers welcomed us in Zook with the nastiest of slangs. Kshitiz greeted them equally in his own style and the three of us stepped inside.
Zook. Our second home it was.
Once upon a time our daily visits in that club had made us famous enough to earn this tag. However, we couldn't carry this legacy forward. We had to detach ourselves from this second home when Nitara walked into our lives.
Things had taken a 360° change with her arrival. I had quit drinking. My two idiots followed me blindly and they left drinking too. We just wanted to make Nitara feel comfortable and for that we had happily sacrifised our passion for alcohol.
It was almost three years later we were walking in that same nightclub once again.
Gushes of memories flooded my mind. Those long forgotten college days flashed up infront of my eyes and a feeling sheer pleasure ripelled down my body. Those days were something huh! At that time we had a different gang, of which Kshitiz and me made the bestest of friends. We remained best friends even after our college ended. I had joined Hindu Rao hospital as an young intern while Kshitiz joined the teaching stuff in DMC. Adit became a part of us 2 years later, when he joined my hospital in the dermatology section. And from then onwards this new trio had been setting friendship goals in the field pf medicine!
"So! ... finally we are here after so long!!" Adit remarked dreamily. His eyes had been sparkling in the neon lazers.
-"Yep. Long time." I smiled to myself, stepping aside from the nostalgia.
"And all thanks to Kshitiz for this." Adit whacked Kshitiz's shoulder which he retorted with a grin and looked at me with some weird emotions in the darkness of his orbs.
My throat went dry all of a sudden. I realised that a limp had been stuck there... since yesterday?
Yes, yesterday it was, the moment when Kshitiz had caught me and Tara red handed.
"Guys, were you kissing?" Kshitiz asked as he rolled down the sheets of his car.
We had already seperated by then but somehow, we couldn't look at each other.
I tried fumbling for the right word but my mind seemed quite occupied with the recently lost proximity.
Strangely, I was still wandering if the kiss-miss was good or bad.
My body was on fire. The raging hormones were threating me every now then. But then that wasn't a point. I had no rights to kiss Nitara. Although she was the one inviting me.
Wait. Did she really invite me? Wasn't I was the one who couldn't control his thumb from crawling to her lips?
Damn! Why was it so impossible to control myself with her around me?
"Heya.. Dev, Nitara.. where are you people lost?" Kshitiz poked again.
-"Umm.. if we had to kiss we would have done that in the bedroom itself.. why do you think we are here to kiss at midnight?" I said faking an air of confidence, to which Kshitiz nodded his head wisely and came down from his car.
"Hmm..point. But Dev, why are you fumbling like this? And Nitzy? What is it with you? Why are you so silent??" He now attacked Nitara with his rapid fire round.
I managed to take a look at her. To my utter surprise I found her in a state which was enough to shackle my senses in thousand pieces.
Nitara had turned pale. As pale as a corpse from the morgue.
