Late For School

I got to school late and ran to my class room as fast as possible.

I opened the door and everyone stared at me while the teacher told me to hurry up and get my books out.

I scramble to my desk and Xavier was the only one that smiled when I walked through that door. I smiled back and sat down at my desk and got my books out...

It was break and Xavier and I walked out of the class together and towards an empty bench

"So why were you late" Xavier said as we sat down

"Woke up late" I mumble as I got my lunch out of my bag and opened it up revealing a sandwich and an apple.

"So since I told you about my family, I don't really know anything about yours?" I said smiling while I took a bite from my apple

"Well I have a dad and my dad has a girlfriend and I'm an only child, pretty basic family" Xavier said smiling

"Oh okay" I said

"So how did your family die and when, sorry to ask you don't have to answer if it makes you uncomfortable" he said, I took a deep breath and looked up at him

"No it's fine, well it was when I was ten and we were coming back from holiday, we had just entered the city and we went around a corner and this car that came out of nowhere and hit us straight on, there was no one in that car which was weird and Taylor and I were the only ones that survived." I said putting on a fake smile.
