I am so tired. We had such great conversations with Finn's friends and it was just amazing. I think my mouth moved so much, it might be sore tomorrow. Sadly, dinner ended, and we had to go our separate ways. That is except for Finn and I. Both of us were so tired, we basically had to hold each other up so we wouldn't fall. We reached the cell, before I looked back and saw Hopper smiling at me, laughing. I just smiled and shook my head, before entering the cell.
"Your friends are amazing, Finn." I finally stated, giving him a closed smile. "Yeah, they're great aren't they" "I mean they can be little assholes sometimes, but yes", he said, resulting in both of us chuckling a bit. "Well night, Wolfhard." I state, as I turn around in my bed, now facing the wall. "Wait Millie..." he said, but I had already been so tired, that I didn't hear anything else, and drifted to sleep.
I wake up to the sound of a whistle being blown, already annoying me. I slowly and drearily get up in my bed, scanning the room, before I meet eyes with Finn. "Hey uh, what is happening? Its way too early", I say rubbing my eyes, as he gets out if his bed making it. "Well Millie, in this section of Juvi, we have to do gym, like in school, and then shower. And it is usually early. We do it like 3 times a week." He says, as I moan in annoyance, not wanting to even move my lazy ass out of bed. "Come on, slow poke, we can't be late, or else we run extra laps" he says putting on his shoes. My eyes widen in shock, as I realize we only have about 5 minutes to get to wherever we need to go. The whistle is your 5 minute warning.
Wait laps? As in like running in a circle? Oh hell no.
I jump out of the bed like a spring, as I quickly shake my head fixing my hair, and out out my shoes, following Finn to the gym.We arrived, and the "coach" or gym teacher is already giving his little speech. "Okay class, today we will do some runn-" he stops mid sentence, and looks at Finn and I. "Hey you two, are late. I will let it slide this time, but no more sucking face in your cell. You must arrive to gym on time." He says, as I feel my face heat up from embarrassment.
Did he really just say that? No way.
I look at Finn, who is twice as red as me. I awkwardly look away, and take a seat on the gross colored grass. Finn does the same, but makes sure not to get too close to me.
God, now it will be so awkward with him. God damn it. Why? Why god?
My thoughts are interrupted by the coach yelling. "Okay! Let's go! 30 laps all the way around! No crying you babies!" I stand up, and begin to run, already hating it.
29 more to go.After what felt like forever, gym class was finally over, and it was time for showers. I swipe my sweaty forehead with my hand, and begin to walk inside. I feel a tap on my shoulder, and turn around to see Finn, sweating less than me, but looking red from running and jumping and all that shit he made us do. "Oh hey Finn, what's up?" I say casually, trying not to make the situation awkward. "Hey Mills. That was quite a workout huh?" He says laughing lightly, me joining only seconds after. "Hey let's talk after we shower okay?" I say, as we separate into the different locker rooms.
I walk inside, the steam hitting my face, not a great feeling against my body, since I was already sweaty and sticky. I get into one of the little stall thingies, and close the curtains. I wash my hair, and my body as millions of questions bombard my mind.I exit the shower room, my hair still wet, as I see Finn waiting on a crappy wooden bench outside the boys' shower room. He was waiting for me. "Well it's about time, you slow poke!" He says playfully as I just laugh and roll my eyes.
The rest of the day goes fairly normal. Talking and having an amazing time with Finn's friends, chilling around the cell, reading, and well, just relaxing. But when it was finally time to sleep, I just couldn't. I was not tired. The same question just kept circling my brain all day. Finn was already asleep, I think, and I decided to grab my glasses from the night stand and read. Reading always eased my mind. I grabbed my book, and began to read. I was interrupted by a familiar voice. "Millie, what are you doing, and wow I did not know you wear glasses", he states as I move my eyes from the page, to him. "First, I look ugly with glasses, and I can't sleep."
I state, returning to my book. "Okay well, I think you look amazing with glasses, and why can't you sleep?" He questions with curiosity. I exhale deeply, as I begin to tell him all that was in my mind ever since gym class. "Okay well, I have just been thinking all day, about what the gym coach said ya know? It was just weird. And well it just shook me up I mean he actually thinks that? That's creepy I mean he is a grown man and He just shoul-" I am cut off abruptly by Finn. "Woah woah easy there zoomer", he says lightly chuckling as I just sit there out of breath from all the words that just spilled from my mouth. He got out of bed, and sat next to me on the bed. "Millie, I thought it was very awkward as well." "Yeah but come on Fin-" I am cut off again, this time by Finn shushing me with his finger up to my mouth. "Millie.
It's okay. That will happen. I mean we are roommates. People will assume the worst about us. But hey, we know the truth. Nothing is happening between us right now", he says as my mind begins to fill with more questions.
Right now? What does that mean? Are we hooking up later? What is he trying to say?
He finally releases his finger from my lips, the sensation of his skin causing my cheeks to turn into a light pink. At this point, I am just staring into the boy's brown, mesmerizing eyes, getting lost. It's like the ocean. So big, you could easily get lost. "Okay Finnie," I say smiling, before pushing him playfully. "Now move your butt out of my bed, I need my sleep!" I whisper yell, causing him to laugh. I go to sleep, with the same boy stuck in my mind, as I peacefully drift off to sleep.
