Chapter Two:
I walk into English 12 and pick a desk in the back. This class is easy, but it sucks I don't have it with Christina. Maybe I should take Caleb's advice and make new friends?
A guy sits down next to me and smirks at me. I raise an eyebrow and look away. Who does this new guy think he is?
"My names Peter," he says. "I'm new here."
I look at him and I notice he has brown hair and he looks like someone you shouldn't mess with.
"Cool." I respond coldly and open my notebook.
"God you're such a Stiff." He snorts.
I scowl at my notebook trying to ignore him. Wow, am I really going to have a new kid talk to me like that?
"What ever," I say and I get up to move desks. But he sticks out his foot and trips me. I fall and stumble to get up. Everyone in the class laughs and I turn bright red.
I stumble into a different desk as the teacher walks in.
"Good Morning Class! I hope you had a great summer! My name is Ms. Wu and I will be your English 12 teacher."
I zone her out and look at the girl sitting next to me. She looks nice, and I haven't seen her before.
"Hi," I say quietly trying to make a friend.
"Oh, hey!" She says brightly. "My names Marlene. What's your name?"
I smile a little, "Tris. It's nice to meet you."
She smiles and looks over at Peter. "Just ignore him. He seems like a jerk anyway."
"Yeah, he is." Is all I say.

Next class I have with Christina, Thank God.
I walk in and see her waving at me to come and sit by her. I smile and plop down in the desk next to hers.
"How was your first class Tris?" She asks excitedly.
"Terrible," I mumble. "What about your first class?"
She frowns a little but then she gets excited again. "Oh, I'm sorry...but I met this guy! His name is Will! And he's so cute and smart and...gosh!"
I smile a little. I'm happy that she met a nice guy. "Well, that's great!" I try saying excitedly.
She nods quickly and points to a guy across the room.
"Oh, and that's Uriah. He's Zeke's little brother. Remember Zeke? He graduated last year." She says. I nod remembering Zeke.
"Yeah, well he's like so funny!! We should tots hang out with him sometime!" She exclaims.
"Sure!" I say. I've talked to Uriah before. He's not new, but I've only ever had one or two classes with him. But I agree, he's so hilarious.
I look over at Uriah who is flicking pencils across the room. I laugh and look at a guy I don't recognize to his left. Who is that? He has short brown hair and ocean blue eyes. Oh his eyes...
"Earth to Tris?!" Christina says poking my cheek. "You there?"
I snap up looking at her. "What? Huh?"
She giggles, "you like that guy?" She says pointing to the boy with the ocean blue eyes.
I shake my head, a little to quickly. "What? No. He looks like he's popular already. We don't go for the popular guys remember? They are all players."
Christina shrugs, "Well, he's new. Maybe he isn't like them?" She suggests.
I glance back over at the new guy. I smile just as he turns around and looks at me. He smiles back.
