When the smile fades,
The room goes quiet,
The brightness dims,
And your high spirits falter.
When the day ends,
The sun sets,
The lights dim,
And turn slowly,
Into darkness,
It's over.
When the page is full,
The ink runs out,
The last door closes,
It's over.
It always ends.
Your joy,
Your pain,
Your depression.
Your friendships,
Your enemy-line,
Your conversation.
It all ends.
Some sooner,
Some later,
Some never even begin.
But it all ends.
Just don't let it end too soon.
Please.
