Hoseok closed the door behind him before getting inspected by the guards. Yoongi looked up from the book he was reading, glasses perched on his nose. He put the book down on the table upon seeing the doctor, staring, again.
Dr Jung almost gulped at the intense gaze he got from Min Yoongi as he approached the table. He set his clipboard down, pushing it away gently, and pushed his chair in.
It was protocol to turn the camera on every time they were speaking to the patients, as Namjoon had said in the briefing.
"17 September 2016. Log number 2, patient Min Yoongi."
"Doctor Jung."
"How, uh- how have you been?"
"Nothing much can change, can it? It's only been a day, doctor."
"How's the sleepwalking?"
"I'm harmless now. There's nobody left to kill. Even if I had anyone left, the metal door would slap me in the face if I tried to leave."
"You're right. Uh...do you remember anything different?"
"No."
"Are you...doing alright? Settling in?"
"I suppose. At least they let me read, huh? I'm basically the most non-hostile person in the morning."
"Oh. Okay."
At that point, Hoseok was pretty much clueless as to what he wanted to ask. There wasn't much he could inquire about his patient, considering all of his information was on the clipboard.
"Anything you want to tell me?"
"No."
"Anything you want to ask me?"
"...no."
"Then thank you for visiting me, Doctor Jung."
"Log number two, patient Min Yoongi, 17 September 2016. Ended."
Hoseok sighed as he turned off the camera, taking a second look at Yoongi who had his arms crossed before standing up to leave.
"Hey, Doctor," he heard from his spot at the door, "See you again soon."
He turned back, only to be greeted with a cheeky smile on his patient's face, baring his gums and the top row of teeth.
"Yeah. See you." he murmured, stepping out of the room and into the hallway.
He couldn't begin to think how badly he messed up. What did he even think he would get out of casually visiting anyways? Yoongi wouldn't break, probably would never. It was futile to ask him things he didn't want to tell. Not like he could, he didn't remember anything in the first place.
Hoseok sighed as he took the route down the hallway to get to his office. He had to wait till Namjoon called him again, or just for someone to keep him occupied. He decided that the best way to kill his time was to do the rest of his stacks of paperwork.
Honestly, the job was more paperwork than practicality, but it paid well. More than that, Hoseok wanted to know more about his patient, or at least solve his case before he left.
Min Yoongi intrigued him, and he couldn't lie about that. He was so dark, so mysterious, and it reeled Hoseok in. It was the feeling that he would fall into his mystery and never escape. It was the feeling that if he solved Min Yoongi, he'd see the truth behind him.
The truth was what he wanted. No, craved.
It was insane that he would think that, really. He was never one for mysteries, but something about the dark hair, brown eyes and stunning smile brought him in. Too much, if he would admit it. Yoongi wasn't necessarily a bad guy. His mind was just clouded by darkness in place of the dreams he should have had.
But if he was to solve him, he needed the cooperation. He needed the information. He couldn't possibly do that without getting help, without any strategy.
Without first breaking Min Yoongi.
Hoseok knew what to do, had to do, and who he had to find.
He found the person he had to ask standing by the front counter of the East Wing, writing something down.
"Dr Kim," he tapped his mentor's shoulder, causing him to spin around. His frown spread out into a smile when he saw Hoseok.
"Yes, how can I help you?"
The junior resident had it planned all the way out. He just had to make sure things went according to plan. He decided just to be straightforward to his mentor.
"I need to make Min Yoongi open up."
Namjoon cocked his head to the side, confused and looking expectantly at Hoseok to get some information about what he was going on about.
"I think I know what I need, but I have to get him to give it to me willingly. I have to...break him down."
The mentor stared for a second, at his junior, just trying to calibrate the things he heard.
"What do you mean...break him down?"
Anxiety crossed Hoseok's face as he saw the way Namjoon's eyebrows furrowed in worry.
"Get him to open up," he replied, leaning his arm against the counter.
"Okay. But how're you going to do that?"
"That's why I need you. You took criminology. You know criminal behaviour."
"Sure. I'll help. But why are you so-"
"No questions. C'mon, I'll tell you the plan."
Hoseok led Namjoon to the shared office, but not before checking if anyone was inside. Thankfully, both Taehyung and Jungkook were out.
He sat his mentor down at the coffee table, grabbing papers and two pens from his desk.
"So it'll go a little bit like this."
